Atlanta Monster - Podcast

Crime In Sports has been my go to podcast lately
In case you were wondering

I haven't checked it out yet, but I've heard good things. Big fan of true crime podcasts ever since listening to the first season of "Serial". I just finished up "Dirty John". That one was really good too.

What's the link yo?

interesting.

On episode #9 the attorney's for Wayne Williams claims the KKK was involved. When the Podcast questioned the Authorities they immediately wrote it saying, "The Klan was smart enough to pull off that many perfect Murders"

I found that a suspicious answer simply because, of course an outfit like the KKK probably wasn't smart enough, but smart wasn't necessary when you had the power of the guards, (those investigating and prosecuting the case) serving its own interests, if not those of the KKK.

I find it interesting many times those in positions of power use answers like that to brush off inquiry.

@Chesten_Hesten I guess I missed your tag when you first made the thread but this sounds interesting.

I've been looking for a new podcast so I'll check this out and chime back in.

Good points.
Look how Police who are caught in the act are put on "administrative leave" first instead of being charged like you or I would if the situation applied to us.

Been listening to it and it's pretty interesting. I think most likely Wayne is guilty of some of the murders but not all. I think the premise of a coming of age movie about young blacks kids growing up in Atl during this time could be amazing. Like a mix of stand by me/It but for black kids

Or a murder mystery about a guy who killed an adult but got a bunch of child murders pinned on him too. Then he could investigate the child murders from jail just to clear his name of not being a murderer of children

Hey being a Georgia Peach your own self, do you remember that case? What did people think of Lee Brown? You know he ended up Police Chief of Houston, then Mayor.

The level of Politics in this case seemed staggering. The More I listen to info on the case, and read about it the less inclined I am to believe much of what any of those involved had to say. Wayne Williams, I don't really believe him, or the Police. It seems like maybe multiple people were killing kids and when Wayne got busted the rest just stopped, maybe quit while they were ahead? So difficult to get to the truth.

In the Cnn video one of the witnesses against Wayne was a sex offender himself. Seems that would discredit him in a court case, but on a personal level would it necessarily? I mean if that's the neighborhoods he was in then then that's the sort of people who are there. Sad bad stuff.

Avoiding any spoilers in the thread, but I love true crime podcasts. Thanks for the rec.

Is it possible that Williams did it? Absolutely. Is it possible that maybe he killed only one? Sure. Is it possible that there was a group doing it? Yes.

The whole case has all sooooo many angles in this this, it boggles the mind.
