Athleticism once again proves how important it is

He's definitely slower. He looked noticeably slower than TJ in the first even before TJ tagged him.

TJ only landed few leg kicks before then, barao also barely started

speed kills
personal opinion I think barao bought into his hype coming into this fight

mega props to dillashaw he proved the world wrong with this performance

I just think it wasn't Barao's night. He still was of one the best fighters in UFC

That's an understatement. Barao was brutally punished. How many head-kicks did he absorb? Barao has a hell of chin. I think a lot of fighters would have been finished after that shot Dillashaw landed in the first.

TJ proved to be the much better athlete and his speed decided this fight in his favor clearly. First guy Barao fights who he doesnt have speed advantage on and he loses. But Im sure the MMA purist will say athleticism and speed doesnt matter and its all technique that decides every fight

Nobody legit is saying that in 2014.

Athleticism is an important tool in MMA, but it is one of many measurements.

Barao got cracked early and never recovered or found a rhythm. Barao, without such a brutal start, is just as quick/fast as TJ.
