Did they conduct any kind of testing for PEDs in the UFC before the USADA era? Of course if they did it was probably laughably easy to avoid getting caught, just wondering.
And still fighters failed, but I didn't see any of the "it doesn't make sense" crowd up in arms about that.Pre and post fight tests only. It was considered an IQ test.

Some still couldn't pass them though.Pre and post fight tests only. It was considered an IQ test.
Makes you wonder how much the UFC swept under the carpet in regards to testing etc
100% agree. Especially regarding their top starsThey closed their eyes deliberately.
How much before a fight was the Pre-fight test?
They buried a test Burkman failed before TUF 1, which is why he wasn't on it. Vitor failed a test before he fought Jones, the UFC decided the best solution was to give him a TRT TUE without telling anyone. I'd be shocked if there aren't other cases that haven't come out.Makes you wonder how much the UFC swept under the carpet in regards to testing etc
The randy , chuck, Tito era jumps out to meThey buried a test Burkman failed before TUF 1, which is why he wasn't on out it. Damn son you never heard about Overeem popping for roids? He was the all set to kill JDS and be the champion in 2012 but failed the pre-fight test, then came back clean and couldn't beat guys like Bigfoot, Rothwell or Brown.Did they conduct any kind of testing for PEDs in the UFC before the USADA era? The day before the fight and then immediately after the fight. None other than that.
Right before USADA, NSAC started cracking down and decided to do random tests and what better to start with Overeem and Brock?
They decided to do a random test during a presser and Reem literally ran from the building and jumped in a car. Meanwhile Brock claimed he was out hunting in the wilderness and it would take several days for him to get to a testing facility.
The Venn diagram of smart people, and people who get punched in the head for a living doesn't have a large overlap. And still fighters failed, but I didn't see any of the "it doesn't make sense" crowd up in arms about that.
Sherk disappeared a long time before that, and had fought for several years after he failed a test vs. Franca. The guy is 44, he aged out, he wasn't running from testing.Seems like they use to test random pre and post, didn't test everyone.
Sean Sherk dissapeared about the time testing began to pick up.
