Aspinall vs HWs of 10+ years ago

Haven’t seen enough of him yet but from what I’ve seen so far I’d say he’d be close to top 5 a couple of years ago but I think he’d get quite easily beaten by the best.

Tom still has unknowns to say for sure. We still don't know how he will fair against someone that is also well rounded like Blaydes or someone that is a specialist like Gane and Almeida.

Although Aspinal is still fairly untested it's an interesting comparison.

For example. Gus had DC seeing birds and took him to a split decision. Since Aspinal is bigger with one punch ko power, speed and better groundgame I see him fairly easily beating DC at that time. Aspinal's most difficult fight would be against someone like prime Dos Santos who moves really well with one punch ko lighting fast hands. Of course he would have real problem with the likes of Cain, Verdum etc. But judging from what I have seen so far it looks like he could've been competitive.

Aspinall has the footwork to get JDS against the fence and blast him when he tries to get away. DC gets rocked and recovers fast.

Meh.

What about Aspinall vs. HW's of 10 THOUSAND years ago!? Tom vs. Neanderthal!!

Also, what about Tom vs. HW's of ten years from NOW?

And HW's from another dimension of time and space?

And Tom vs. OVERCOOKED NOODLES!!!

Carwin is 70/30
Brock is 50/50
UberReem is 50/50.

He is either a large dog or definitley loses to the others. Can't understand folks saying Aspinall wins most of these wtf? Dude has 1 big win n Blades was looking good even before the injury .

Cain - gets a Aspinal on Cage and Does same to him as JDS only worse maybe.

Werdum - Tom's TD threat is reversed. Actually think Wedum might be worst.

DC - a little smaller but better in every aspect thsn Tom.

JDS - maybe Close but imo JDS prime he was so sharp standing he just has peak prime same time as Cain..

I evaluated all in their primes not a certain year

Aspinals best wins: Pavlovich, Volkov, Tybura and ancient Arlovski.

Recency bias fanboys:

"He'd easily destroy peak Cain, peak JDS, peak DC, Peak Ubereem and peak Werdum because EVVOOOLLUUUUTIIIOOOON MAAAAAN"

Where is all this Aspinal hype coming from? One eye Bisping?

Aspinal is in the worst version of the HW era in the history of MMA…

Some of these guys they are throwing out there would lose by exhaustion vs a random bar bouncer.

Come on Sher-dorks.

Neanderthal via functional strength…Tom would be toast.

Fam. Mandem on di list all prolly hit like 80k+ on di Power Kube Aspinall only hit 45k ain't even pon di top 100 list of hardest hitterz in bro's hometown 🤣Carwin woulda beat dat widda pawing jab fam smdh 🤦🏽

Tommy boy haffi train a few more year on him striking fore we compare him to di old headz fam no disrespect just science

Look at dis fam even di egghead had to give him fighting tips increased his power by 50% right away bro only hit 30k by himself lol bro ain't ready for di comparisons yet

He's never beaten anyone on any of these guys level, especially not in their primes. I've seen people who think he can outwrestle prime DC. It's the most confusing thing to me. There's no UK MMA fighter in history that will ever be able to outwrestle DC. But forget outwrestling DC, what has he done to even suggest he could beat any of these guys anywhere? I truly don't get it.

Gustafsson at that point arguably outstruck Prime Jones, not to mention the fact that DC was taking years off of his life to make LHW. I doubt he has those same durability flaws in his prime at HW. I want to know who Aspinall has beaten on the ground better than Mir and Barnett. And I want to know what evidence we have to suggest he could stop DC's takedowns? Like maybe a similarly skilled opponent in the wrestling who wasn't able to get him down?
What exactly have you seen from him so far that makes you think he could be competitive? I've never seen him in a five round fight. I've never seen him face a decent wrestler. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just genuinely curious.

Rate Aspinall’s skill level. How would he do against the HWs from the early 2010s decade?

- Cain
- DC
- JDS
- Carwin
- Brock
- Overeem
- Werdum

You forgot prime Stipe, who would out-think, out-gut, out-punch, and beat Aspinall.

If Dana tells me "promote my current champion always" then I will say the sport has evolved and Tom destroys everyone from all time.

But if Dana tells me "promote the guy I am glomming onto for GOAT now" then Jon, who hasn't been in his prime for years and is from a previous decade, destroys Tom today with ease any day of the week.

Am I doing it right, PR accounts? Which one is correct now? @markg171 please advise which talking point I should parrot

What you guys smoking, he's the dollar tree version of Overeem at best.
