You must not throw much plastic...The Elves...I thought they were extinct.

I'm actively working with the city to reintroduce a disc golf course that existed in the 80s and 90s that was bullshited out of existence for ridiculous reasons.Paige Pierce is Asmogol's homunculus wrapped in a queer flag... And disc golf screwed up big-time by even entertaining the idea of letting a man compete in the women's division, because guess what followed, drama, lawsuits, fake death threats/fake mass shooting threats and the dreaded solidarity amongst actual women...

I'm doing something similar. My homes on a park that's got a scrubby 18 hole course where I often pick up garbage during my rounds and I built two benches, one with salvaged pallets and one with decking I saved from helping a friend demo his deck.I'm actively working with the city to reintroduce a disc golf course that existed in the 80s and 90s that was bullshited out of existence for ridiculous reasons.
I met and made friends with people who give a fuck about local stuff at the dog park, and we decided this was a worthy cause. It sounds funny but with a tiny bit of organization things get done.
The park is on my street .
Par 3 is for wussies.I'm doing something similar. My homes on a park that's got a scrubby 18 hole course where I often pick up garbage during my rounds and I built two benches, one with salvaged pallets and one with decking I saved from helping a friend demo his deck.
The course is getting a redesign to attract young players, new baskets and tee pads as well as changing every hole. My realtor and friend is on the community board so I have inside info and some ability to voice my opinion on the new course, I'm not super happy about the change especially if every hole is a part 3 but it'll be nice to have pads.
Have you ever watched any of his stuff? I'm not a cheerleader for the guy by any means, but the vids I have watched show him to be a basic person with middle right centered takes. The kind of person you could actually have a conversation with and explain your takes and hear theirs. It never ceases to amaze me how the dumbest, must useless fucks in society amass the biggest followings on social media.

People aren't going to Twitch for insightful commentary, they go their for entertainment and because they like what they hear. Doesn't mean there can't be insightful commentary, but there's no reason to conclude either is insightful just because they command social media followings.Simply put - They both gave insightful commentary while being entertaining to attract and keep an audience.
Wtf???People aren't going to Twitch for insightful commentary, they go their for entertainment and because they like what they hear. Doesn't mean there can't be insightful commentary, but there's no reason to conclude either is insightful just because they command social media followings.
This is just dumbing down of media literacy.
People are free to decide what media they ingest. Ideally however, they'd have enough critical thinking to parse different sources.Wtf???
I bet the nobles in times past were worried about commoners learning to read.
I guess by your take only the super smart people deemed by other super smart people that they are super smart should be able to express opinions or relay news. https://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2015/02/brian-williams-alleged-lies-a-list-202585
Who should and shouldn't decide the options for people ingesting media?
Nope! I completely disagree with you there.People are free to decide what media they ingest. Ideally however, they'd have enough critical thinking to parse different sources.
If someone's idea of insight on politics or the world is a streamer, I'd wager that person doesn't know much about the world or have the curiosity to change.
You might as well tell me that Twitch titty streamers are insightful.
I'm American, my guy. I can say nearly anything, online or in person. In Western Europe, they can do almost all of that.Nope! I completely disagree with you there.
People are not free in the first world to express their opinions. Look at British and German governments policing people saying stuff. Imo people should be able to say things out loud.
Whats your ideal?
So, what's your point my guy?I'm American, my guy. I can say nearly anything, online or in person. In Western Europe, they can do almost all of that.
I'm close to a free speech absolutist, but I also recognize that democracies can function with slightly curtailed speech and that many have a long history do. Democracy isn't one size fits all, it's often localized and I acknowledge that.
My original point was that if someone's idea of insightful social and political commentary is a streamer, they aren't thinking very hard or seriously. So, what's your point my guy?
Freedom of speech only works if you agree with the content of said speech?
That is a garbage take and you should feel bad for having it.
You're already apologizing for the wrong thing dude.If a democracy votes to criminalize hate speech, I don't agree with it. But it's their country and they have a different idea of free speech. I can't do much about that.

Certain things like thinking and speaking shouldn't be criminal.
WTF are you on about?
I see reading isn't your strong suit...If a democracy votes to criminalize hate speech, I don't agree with it.
Why dont you tell me all these insightful views that come from Twitch.Have you asked them?
Where did I say echo chamber?Oh, so its 'entertainment echochamber.'
I'd be perplexed if someone thought Hasan Piker was the peak of insight on the left.I wonder what percentage of Hasan Piker's viewers agree with 100% of what he says because I bet Asmongold's viewers don't agree with everything.
What...when did I say anything about streaming not being popular. Let's make this simple: Going to Twitch to find your insight isn't that much better than going their for medical or engineering advice. Some nuggets here and there, but by and large lacking actual expertise in politics, government, medicine, etc. Specialization, education, and practice exist for a reason.Sounds like you need a better argument as to why streaming is popular, because it sounds like you're using old talking points from before streaming became popular for why streaming wouldn't become popular.
Which is great entertainment, and good for society in my book. If you're expecting commentary on politics or what not, then yeah I wouldn't go to Twitch.Because from what I've seen most streamers aren't political, they're just very good at games and they also teach their viewers how to become better at games.
