News Askar Askarov vs Brandon Royval OFF for Oct 15th card

Askarov has pulled out of fights twice...missed weight on another occasion...and now is missing weight again and won't accept a catchweight?

Time to force him up to 135.
And even after all that, this dude gets 1/100000th the flack certain other fighters have received here for missing weight once.

I love sherdog and its double-standards.

Is there a reason Russian fighters have so many weight cutting issues? Do they not enforce weigh ins as strictly in amateur leagues there? Serious question, not trying to bash anyone, but they're clearly serious about training yet so often fail to do the job before game day.

Cut Askarov

Edit: Missed weight vs Joe B, pulled out vs Perez, pulled out vs Perez AGAIN, misses weight AGAIN vs Royval, & then says no to a catchweight? Sorry but 5 strikes & you're out bro.
LMFAO

Then cut the guy in your AV too. He has 5 strikes already

* Cub Swanson
* Jeremy Stephens
* Miles Jury
* Ricardo Lamas
* Gaethje

Plenty of fighters from all nations miss weight but i would really imagine that a country with such a seemingly strong Amateur MMA scene would have fewer problems with weight cutting.

He should have been cut after the Lamas fight. The Gaethje "miss" was BS & 6 years removed from the Lamas fight. All of Askarov's strikes are within the last 2.5 years.

5 screw ups in 2.5 years is not = to 1 in 6 years. Easy math

Yeah, of course lots of fighters miss weight, including fan favorites from the US and Brazil, but it's pretty hard to deny that Russian fighters and women (who at least can partially blame hormones) seem to miss weight or have late cancelations with vague reasonings more often than other groups.

I think it'd be hard to track with stats because of how often fights are pulled without the heavy fighter actually weighing in, so the incidences of actually fighting overweight would be misleadingly lower than having weight issues overall.

HA! I hadn't put up the parlays yet, DIDN'T FUCK ME THIS TIME!

Also this was probably the fight I was looking most forward to. YA BASTARDS

If the MMA gods must have this fight sacrificed in order for 280 to stay intact...

SO BE IT

Whack.
But hey; the UFC made their bed on this too.
Shit shit; zero exposure shit card; have to travel across the globe to fight there.

Funny how a deaf guy gets no promo or publicity off it when it's an ugly russian short guy

He must be dense as hell at 5'6" and looking like this to always have problems on the scale. I, like most of you am baffled on why he didn't accept a catchweight fight. Even if Brandon and team said ok 127 or whatever and Askar refused it i'm sure if it was up to Brandon he would have fought at any catchweight. Must be something else going on imo. I was so amped for this fight =/

Historically the fighter that makes weight is the one refusing the fight, what happened here? Cut?

Maybe Royval suggested a catchweight of 130 lbs or something and Askarov could only make 132 lbs, something like that idk just guessing.
How bad did he missed weight?
