As a Fight fan I never really liked Big John's ways of being a refeere

The worst case of whitning something that is blatant clear to everybody. It won't change any results which refeere is in there at the end of the day. whomever was suppose to win will win but BJM is just not the right guy. He can be annoying for the fighters thats pretty much it

Tranquility and calmness, in the middle of an MMA fight could easily result in the death of a fighter.

Ref chanting "OM" while some dude is getting GnPed to death wouldn't exactly bode well for MMA. lol

Big John is fantastic at stopping most fights in the split second they need to be.

But that's NOT what this latest uproar is all about. It's about him not letting Jones get away with his usual BS>

He's "ok". He definitely takes the job seriously, and that's a good thing. He's old school.

The thing about him is sometimes you can tell he thinks he's the fuckin show. Like people are tuning in to see him.

People think that because he voices his directions and commands in an authoritative manner so that the fighter understands and there is no misunderstanding.

The only time Big John fucked up was the eye poke thing and he told the doc, that the fighter was ok. That I didn't agree with.

Unfortunately Jones is a guy who needs someone shouting at him. He does some dirty shit, whether its intentional or not. I'm not one of the fans who thinks it's intentional but it sure does happen a lot.

And if it happens in this DC fight then maybe he should have points taken away.

He doesn't need someone to shout at him, just take a point away if an eye poke comes in. I don't think John is a bad ref, but he is an asshole. He makes good calls, but fighters dont need some guy yelling at them when they're trying to concentrate, a d/or exhausted. Take the point and move on with the fight.

Ive competed in boxing and MT and i can understand how a personality like BJM could affect ones performance in the ring. But whatever, we don't have to agree on everything.
