Arum: Crawford-Horn/Pacquiao-Alvarado Headed to Vegas, Not MSG

Promoter Bob Arum told BoxingScene.com on Tuesday that the Terence Crawford-Jeff Horn/Manny Pacquiao-Mike Alvarado doubleheader won’t take place at Madison Square Garden.

The ESPN Pay-Per-View show featuring Crawford and Pacquiao, scheduled for April 14, instead is headed to one of MGM Resorts International’s properties in Las Vegas. Mandalay Bay is a popular property among those that travel for Pacquiao’s fights in Las Vegas and is the hotel where Pacquiao prefers to stay when he fights in that city, but Arum wasn’t certain Tuesday of the exact site.

Arum had hoped to bring that card to Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, but there already are two boxing cards scheduled for April at Barclays Center in nearby Brooklyn.

Assuming Crawford handles 147 well, he should smoke Horn. But given Horns size and name recognition from the Pac fight, it is good. In addition to Horn having the size, he has the style to impose his size, like he did vs Pac.

I feel TC is bigger than Pac tho, and adjusts better than Pacman as well... so considering all that, it is a good match up.

Not PPV worthy, but TC aint fighting Thurman or Spence first time out, and no fight really at 140 or 147 is PPV worthy

Horn's got a belt. Makes sense to me. Crawford get's his belt and can start calling for unifications.

It will be a horribly one sided fight, so it does kind of suck. But I don't blame TC or Top Rank for making this happen. In a round about way, the whole situation is probably preferable for Top Rank. Crawford gets Pacquiao's belt without having to fight Manny.
