Article about Bruce and Michael Buffer and their combined wealth

Lol. UFC Fighters barely get paid, you think a mere announcer like Bruce Buffer would’ve had more than seven figures after 20+ years of service?

<31>
Anyone, doing any job, should be more than happy making 7 figures over however many years. But he didn't just make that, that's what he has left after 20+ years of spending and living lavishly, so I wouldn't shed any tears for the poor guy.

Not sure that's accurate, if you watch the fight pass show on Buffer, he's the one who franchised the whole "let's get ready to rumble" thing for his brother, pretty sure he has a significant stake in that money. He and his brother have a company The Buffer Partnership that manages all their copyrights and franchising and such. shrug.

This, the numbers on buffers side dont make sense. Even before UFC, Bruce was making very good money managing his brother and there joint company. Buffers the businessman of the two, so really doubt he only got 7 million. Even a typical 10% manager fee would net him alot more.

Article is worded strangely. I take it to mean Bruce helped Michael trademark his phrase and Michael has earned $300M from it, explaining the difference in their wealth.

And I'm also surprised Bruce is only worth $7M.

Yea, they don't have a company together which he makes no money from. Like I said it was his idea to do it in the first place and he managed it for his brother. Sure old Bruce is worth at least 100 mil

Both are grossly overpaid in relation to their jobs.

Says who?

Nobody is stepping up to replace them for a fraction of the cost and frankly we don't know what they get paid for their gigs.

Both guys work all over the world literally constantly to make their money. Michael mentioned in a discussion that he travels 300 days a year for work.

The world is fucked up, the wealth is stupidly distributed... we have an elite of rich fucks that own the gross majority of the world's riches. So starting from there I'll end it at saying a doctor and a teacher needs to be making more than a fuckin mma announcer, come one.

I happen to agree with you but doctors make big money relative to other professions (And don't need to travel globally to do so), perhaps not the best example.

If you look at articles about movie star income or top basket ball or soccer players, the money they get paid relative to what they actually do is astronomical.

The Buffers are special cases. I expect they are the highest paid ring announcers on the planet.

I bet Joe Martinez makes fuck all for the work he does with the UFC.

Bruce Buffer sucks, lowkey. Ol' alliteration name havin-ass boy. 360 spin arthritis knees havin-ass-boy

He "did his thing" so to speak, so I can't be too mad at him.

That style is very old-fashioned, to me. That over-the-top ringmaster shit is done. I love regular old Joe Martinez.

Didn't expect that big of a discrepancy between their wealth. This shows 'let's get ready to rumble' is a much better catchphrase that 'it's time'. Maybe that's why Bruce still has to hustle and get fake abs to get the ladies

Ps here's a more detailed story on Michael and Bruce Buffer. It's long but worth the read
https://www.espn.com/mma/ufc/story/...edible-mostly-true-story-bruce-michael-buffer
Michael had such a head start on Bruce though, literal decades; In a well-established sport at arguably peak popularity. That, and his style is better overall imo because his voice has lasted for so long. Bruce doesn’t have that much longer imo before his voice starts to go. “Let’s get ready to Rumble” was a great phrase. “It’s time!” Will go down as one of the best as well.
