Artem not doing too good

“Not doing too good”? I’m not so sure that working construction is worse than getting your brains scrambled for peanuts. Some people enjoy physical labor and being outside to working in a cubicle farm and wasting away behind a desk. I don’t know what you saw in Artem’s fighting career that made you think he could retire without working anymore. And being Conor’s friend isn’t a career, either.

yeah, but some people live out their dreams and can be content with a +10-20 yr pro career. then there's people who worked their entire life towards their athletic goal and get cut down in 1-3 yrs and have to realize they've spent their life attempting to achieve something that can never be due to a variety of circumstances.

i said it before, professional athleticism as a career is a brutal life.

this is true for people in all facets of life. I know people who had a career for 10+ years then found themselves suddenly going back to school when they’re in their late 30s

When I was younger I'd chose conors life of millions and stardom no hesitation. As I get older I feel more sorry for those who reach the pinnacle only to have that eventual existential crisis of "is this what life is all about?" The coke and hoes can only distract you for so long.

I hate to tell you but you will get that same crisis while having to actually work for a living.

further proof conor is a douche. the fact that it had to come down to his "friend" having to sue him for rights to proper 12 while working at a construction job meanwhile conor is buying lambo yachts or whatever brand it was truly speaks volumes.

Artems arms were too short to have his hand in Conors pocket the rest of his life

Don't feel too sad for guys like him. It's like Rocky 3 said, eventually they turn back to becoming regular people. If you can't quit like Apollo, you will ruin your health or even die. Or you can choose to go Rocky's way and get a regular job again, and have those amazing memories for the rest of your life.

This is called copium.

Not just pro athletes, this is a normal human thing.

It just sounded good in @MrShady's head, lol.
If you learn to read I was talking about conors life of millions and stardom in particular.

I prefer to live a life similar to GSP.
One will crash and burn bridges. The other will lift those around him.

Humility and longetivity is the way to go.

Why would this crisis elude the rest of us..?

I never claimed it wont. But if you know notorious B.I.G, then you know mo money mo problems.

Those who lack self control will end up Tyson. Those who self reflect end up on top into old age.

Bro, you are deluding yourself. There are millions of horrible people out there that live life to the fullest until the day they die. The universe doesn't care.

No, I read it. You did say this:
only to have that eventual existential crisis of "is this what life is all about?"

That was a significant part of your point, let's not pretend like it wasn't.
