Arrest Outside Mall, Cop Knees Crazy Woman

Sorry if this has already been posted I couldn't find anything else in my current frame of mind. This is a pretty interesting video of a woman who was allegedly screaming and threatening people inside the mall with a knife. Video starts are cops are arresting her outside. She's resisting and this other cop hauls ass up then starts acting pretty aggressive towards her. He puts a couple knees into her side and then punches her stomach. It's pretty crazy. And so is the woman.

Yeah, lady was crazy and threatening to kill people. But at the point she was on the ground with hands behind her back, wasn't the threat neutralized and the knees and punches unnecessary?

Well they did the good thing when it came to the i cant breathe, which is put someone on their sides at that point they were doing all the correct thing.

That being said, cops really need some grappling training.

i'm sure they could easily take her down if they weren't also trying to be gentle with her at the same time. the officers were most likely more than capable of lifting her up and dropping her on her head if they weren't also trying to protect her from the concrete ground.

that is probably what causes the problem. the cop is trying to pin them down with out hurting them and the criminal is flailing like a lunatic.

yes. a few light needs to the side is a lot gentler than getting dropped on her head on concrete. as i said, they aren't incapable of taking her down. but it's hard to do it gently when they person is flailing and fighting you.

would you actually be hurt from those knees? those were so light they were only distracting her. stop trying to make it out like the cop was anderson silva vs rich franklin

Only needed to watch about 2:00 in to see that it's totally not justifiable.

I thought the knee from the clinch, in order to get her to the ground was the subject of the video --- in which was I thought "bad, but... not career ending bad, maybe." Once he started throwing knees when she was on the ground, with her hands behind her back, he crossed the line. Way beyond the minimum amount of force necessary to make the arrest.
