So what are people's feelings on the Armatix smart gun technology?

You have to wear a watch or bracelet to fire the gun, using RFID technology. If the watch is farther than 10 inches from gun, the firearm will not work.

I can jam your cellphone with parts from Radio Shack.

If people want it good for them, let them purchase one and the risks associated with it.
Just don't make me buy it.

I'll keep my good ole dumb guns.

Well hopefully when a 8 year old finds mommy's loaded gun and starts to play with it, he didn't go to Radio Shack first and buy the required cell phone jammer parts.

You see no use for it at all?

I have no problem with it but if your the NRA oh no you cannot sell this thing in the US!!!!! :)

Mom left a loaded handgun around for an 8 year old to play with?

Yes. Mom needs this Smart Gun Technology. And a new brain.

Kids playing with guns and accident happens, this has never happened before? I would think a guy like you who sells and promotes guns wouldn't care what kind of gun it is. Why would you be against this one?

No use whatsoever. If you have kids keep it in a safe... If you are counting on it to save your life there is too much that could go wrong. If someone broke into your house you would have to worry about putting the bracelet on and then getting the gun... In public if you are conceal carrying you would have to wear the bracelet giving it away that you are carrying.

I wonder how easy it would be to remove the mechanism or file down the safety. Probably pretty easy.

I don't really sell guns. I collect them.

As I said earlier, it is easily defeated therefore I do not want that risk. Additionally, everything with electronics fails. When it comes to life and death - I can't be fumbling around with some bullshit wristband trying to get it work, like rebooting or powering up. Heaven forbid I am dead and my wife has to pick it up and use it.

Basically just saying that this might sound good but its implementation would be a nightmare. Also, I have no children in the house. People with children in their homes should secure their weapons - also I have no illusions that a 13 year old with a smart phone would have that thing hacked in 3 minutes without going to Radio Shack.

A gimmick band-aid.

If we put half the money and effort from garbage like this into education, safety training, and more importantly mental health, gun crime would drop drastically

It would be better if it allowed only intelligent use of the weapon to allow it to function. :icon_lol: Criminals be damned.

So I assume you would have no problem with letting gun dealers sell these in USA? Hey maybe you could even add one to your collection, a conversation piece maybe.

Seems like a dumb unresponsible mommy to leave a loaded gun around..... this same unresponsible mommy would probably leave the child unintended allowing the child to drown in a backyard pool.....

should we do the same for pools???????

You cant be fake, thats the problem with liberals is they are fake so DONT BE FAKE

if you REALLY care about KIDS then let me see you approach kids deaths by swimming pool..... look up the stats, more kids die each year by accidental drowning in swimming pools than by accidental gun shots....

Are you okay with banning pools? Maybe have a mental health test before purchasing a pool to make sure you're responsible enough..... we are talking about childrens lives here.

what if there were an electronic bracelet parents had to wear and the pool cover would only unlock when the parent was within 10ft???

.
