Media Arman Tsarukyan is Speedrunning Getting Cut from the UFC

Arman certainly isn't getting on the UFC good side by refusing to take the Gamrot rematch, he's likely fallen behind Charles and Geathje in line despite being more deserving than both.

The silver lining is that he's the youngest guy in the top 10 and therefore has time to keep contending for a few years.

Arman is an entitled egotist and hothead - he's made that clear for several years. The real problem is he's nuking his relationship with the org before having any kind of leverage in "negotiations" by holding the belt. Until you have a title, you're a slave to that contract and nothing else (unless you manage to garner a large mainstream following, which I don't see happening). Declining the Gamrot fight was a massive blunder; they threw him a lifeline, and he spit in their faces. He's going to be forced to take an actually "insulting" fight now or be benched for a calendar year, which would be a prime year down the drain.

Arman does have something going for him that 99% of fighters don't have.

More than any fighter on the roster possibly, he doesn't need the money.

Freezing away his prime years hurts him, but the lack of income coming in that would concern other fighters in his position, probably doesn't give Arman a second thought.

Another video scraped up by Dark Lord, which means we get no cliffs so we're left choosing whether we'll watch some most likely bottom of the barrel quality video probably full of bullshit.

Great
Just do what everyone else does and close.the thread when you realize it's gonna be some bullshit.

While I do think correcting that Gamrot loss would be a bit of help to his position, I don't think there's anything wrong with asking for Hooker (the next streaking guy behind him with his last win over Gamrot) as opposed to Gamrot himself.

Hard to argue.

This is prize fighting, I'm not going to criticize the logic in calling for the higher ranked opponent, on a win streak, you are going to murder without fuss.

I mean fighting the guy that just beat Gamrot would be much more sensible, even if it's a layup or not. It's not like Mateusz would be much tougher in 2025 now that Arman's striking looks even more fluid than before, and Gamrot has been looking increasingly mediocre by top 10 standards since the Turner fight.

They're not gonna cut him tho, at most they'll just force him to fight anyone. If they didn't cut Gillespie for turning down everyone ranked below him to the point he never fought again, they're not cutting Arman who is actually relevant to the division.

I get feeling wronged but I never got the concept of being angry at offered a lesser opponent. You get paid per fight and it’s been proven a million times active fighters get massive benefits. If you think it’s a lesser fight, take it and prove yourself until it’s undeniable.

It’s not always fair but you are ultimately the master of your own destiny. Shut up and fight.

We all know porker was going to miss weight. There has to be penance, Gamrot is perfect.

I agree there was nothing wrong with Arman asking for Hooker. It was the declining to fight Gamrot, after the UFC told Arman he wasn't fighting Hooker, that was wrong. Arman will learn he has to pay for his wrongs.

One of the problems with Arman and the "you get paid per fight thing" is that unlike most of the guys on the roster...Arman doesn't need to care about the "pay" part. His family is mega rich, dude drives nicer cars than Dana. He literally has "fuck you" money (or his dad does at least) so with Arman it's only about prestige.

Sometimes, I read reactions to Arman and think to myself, "Is this the first time you've ever seen someone pull out of a fight on short notice, or is this only the first time that you've seen an 'injury pullout' and assumed it was actually a weight issue?" Because, man, this is far from the first time for both

Arman is pretty much screaming -- "I'm going to be a problem for the UFC if I get the Title".

There is no subtlety in his actions and messaging. From suspension to walking out on a Headliner Title Fight to his baby-man hurt feelings about getting offered Gamrot --

UFC doesn't need another drama queen as Champ pretending to be King.

His dad is a billionaire I think. Arman drives nicer cars than Dana.

It's absolutely an aspect that can come into play. How many guys where you read they're sleeping in their coach's couch etc. And that's the other extreme end. But in the middle you've got dudes with families, mortgages, etc that need 3 fights/year to uphold their lifestyle. Arman can throw up the Nate Diaz double birds and go chill on a mega yacht.
He doesn't want to because deep down he's a competitor and wants the prestige. Most guys tap to that guillotine that Charles locked in on him in rd 1. Arman showed heart and guts and fought through it to win. We can say he's spoiled, etc and maybe that's true. But he is a fighter through and through.
