Media Ariel claims that UFC threatened cancellation of bouts

or is it because everyone else is a shill? being the best MMA journalist is not saying much since the journalism in MMA is pure garbage most of the time.
Its saying "something" if he is the only one with the balls to do what hes doing at the level he is doing it at.

So because he protected his livelihood and chose to release the news at a time that suited him, that means his words are invalid? You’re throwing all kinds of strawman out bud. Just accept that suck the UFC caulk and we can all move on with our day
It also might have to do with his sources being fighters and not wanting to screw up their relationship with the UFC and those sources might not work for the UFC anymore so releasing that info will no longer negatively impact the fighter that trusted Ariel not to say anything while they were working for the UFC. TS didn't think about that though and has no idea how slander and libel work though.

The epitome of greed that is the UFC and the weasel that is Ariel Helwani deserve each other.
I really hate the fact that we're often put in a situation where we have to agree with either Dana or Ariel. They're both trash

He's a 40 year old man who still loves pro wresting and he absolutely loves any drama in MMA. Ariel is an absolute dork.

And that video the other day where he asks Poitier if he’s getting a PPV cut and people were saying he’s trying to talk about a fighters finances. He was highlighting how shitty it would have been that a massive star like Poirier wasn’t getting a PPV cut and making light of UFC’s greed. I’m honestly starting to think there are paid posters here. These guys are supposedly the most informed of fans

a guy who doesn't know how socializing works but has a job where he's constantly socializing with other human beings. what a world we live in.
Shit, I think these kinds of contradictions are built into the fabric of life:

  • A species of ape that natural selection evolved to write poetry, meditate on Divinity, and think about the origins of consciousness
  • Gov'ts elected by the ppl to protect their interests, that act as a direct threat to their interests and refuse to listen to feedback and criticism
  • Market forces making everything we want cheaper until we're eating bugs and forced to use means of energy production that are entirely inefficient
  • Women's rights morphing into rights for different genders, which morphs into men taking women's places at the table and mansplaining to women what a woman is

And the snake swallowed its tail while the cat chased its own. I could go on and on until Sherdog is a distant memory.

Welcome to earth, brother - most of life here is a paradox. Ariel is hardly the most surprising one!

I've been utterly convinced there are paid UFC employees posting here. But you couldn't be one because look at your account picture. If those aren't hips then my eyes are impervious to their influence.

Starts with the reporting of Islam vs Charles, that Ali and Dana said wasn't going to happen.
Still maintains that the fight is happening but adds at the end that it is not finalized.
Mentions that he had been battling a system that didn't want him to succeed.
The UFC used to threaten fighters and managers.
Ariel claims that the UFC used to threaten cancellation of bouts that Ariel was going to report. <45><45>Not going into the specifics of contracts and liability here but holy shit.
Had been dealing with this for a while but only recently found the willingness to talk about it.
Ariel is willing to put up his reputation, his track record and his 13 journalist of the year trophies.

Thoughts? Guy really seems desperate to get the last word. UFC clearly doesn't give a fuck about the guy or this would be grounds for a defamation lawsuit.

He's a fucking clown. Dude forgot what being humble is

or is it because everyone else is a shill? being the best MMA journalist is not saying much since the journalism in MMA is pure garbage most of the time.
Which is why I don’t get the hate for a dude who has proven time and time again he has credibility and integrity, unlike the shills you mentioned.

When the UFC started showing reaction tweets on screen, DC confirmed to Ariel that Dana gave specific instructions to the production team to never show a tweet from Ariel.

When Ariel worked for ESPN if he was covering an event on site he had to leave the building if Dana walked in, the building not the room.

We all know he got him fired from Fox.

But somehow Dana White telling managers that they are gonna cancel a fight if they keep feeding Ariel info is too crazy to believe?
Fuck Ariel helwani. That dude has pissed off more fighters than anybody in the business.

I dont see how anyone could support that fucking guy

Yup because apparently, disliking Ariel automatically makes you pro-Dana. <45>
yep, too much mma politics got involved with Ariel. I hate he "represents" anything. I tuned out of his shit the more he was going that direction. He doesn't have to be a UFC shill, but he goes overboard with trying to prove UFC is evil. It's the same crowd here that goes nuts when a fighter pay thread comes up and they talk about how bad it is.

Not a huge fan of Ariel but I can respect the fact he tries to give a different side than the UFC main stream blurb. I can respect free journalism.
Bro, he is anti ufc no matter fucking what!! He literally admitted to being bias against the ufc in his argument will chael. How the fuck is that free journalism lol.

Bingo, perfect post!

I could totally see Dana telling the managers of lower tier fighters that… he wants to be the one to announce fights and details and he hates Ariel.
Not sure he would cancel a huge fight because of it but def mid carders and pre show guys

also Ariel usually doesn’t say stuff like that unless he can back it up
Yeah no, Ariel has never said stupid shit before

"Francis made 10 to 20 million for that fury fight" what's your source Ariel? Me!!
