Are you part of a dying/dead gaming community/group/forum/guild?

Ive been a part of a community forum for the tallon zek pvp server on everquest for close to 17 years. Its crazy to think that most of us who still post there were kids and now have kids of our own playing video games.

Medal of Honor: AA clan.

Most guys are married with kids now, and the old forum we used to post sitll has the room for us.

I player diablo 2 like a month ago and it was dead. You'd be lucky if there was even one other game with someone in it actually playing.

But the people who did play were great. The community was great.

My brother and I played COD4 with a group of dude's running a few servers... with one amazing custom map server. So much fun... COD4 had such an amazing run.

It was kind of sad that it faded away.

I'm sure with the remaster coming that will pick up

My old school FPS multipayer guild (Quake I-Arena, UT, etc)

RIP

There was a site called GoneGold run by a former police officer injured in the line of duty. It developed a small but passionate following and a real community. This was 98-99ish. It eventually folded when the founder disappeared, but it spawned numerous offshoots including consolegold (which became www.gamingtrend.com which is still going strong, but the forum is almost dead), the bovine conspiracy (since folded) and www.octopusoverlords.com which is still going strong. There were/are other offshoot sites, but the two key ones still in play are GT and OO. Neither is what it once was and GT is, sadly, pretty much a ghost town now.

18 years ish. Long time.

A few. Diabloiii.net, colonyofgamers.com, evilavatar.com, jediknightii.org (defunct now iirc), and the amazing zbattle.net which is no longer supported RIP.

Diabloiii.net,

Is that supposed to have three "i" or two? Because if you meant for it to have two, and it was just a typo, then I'd say hello. Diabloii.net was the first forum I joined back in like late 1999 about 6 months or so before Diablo II was released. A couple of years later I joined it's offshoot for Warcraft 3, Warcraftiii.net. Those were the only two forums I ever posted on until I joined sherdog in 2006.

It was three but used to be two. They renamed the domain title after the launch of Diablo 3.
