Never driven one. You only have one gear for all speeds? Fuck that.

I admit generally I'm not an "early adopter" with new tech of any kind simply because I think your often paying a premium for something which is still evolving rapidly but I'm guessing I maybe in the market for a new car in 3-4 years and may consider it then.

Only from the standpoint that we need more nuclear and we'd be better of having the available batteries in PHEV rather than full EV because then virtually everyone would do most of their miles in electric. Having a few people on full electric does not achieve the electrified total miles that more people on PHEV would.

I think we're a good 40 years away from getting rid of gasoline cars.

Once they give me any sort of incentive to drive an electric car, I might have a change of heart.. but right now they're too expensive, unreliable, and new for me to spend hard earned money on one.

Mechanics don't know how to fix them, the components that die on them cost a fortune (battery, generators), there aren't enough charging stations and the battery life isn't long enough.

Not for me.

Too cold where I live.

Electricity is expensive af

Not enough charging stations

Maybe like 30 years from now. Maybe.

I am ok with it when the tech gets better. They are testing better steady state batteries with very little risk of explosion/fires. For now they are still a novelty item. They will be fine when prices are affordable and they have the needed infrastructure to support these type of vehicles. It really isn't that bad if you can drive into a spot and it automatically charges. It's just technological, infrastructure improvements and price that will fuel the popularity of the EV. It's like Netflix. If you told me you could stream movies at home but it would take days to download a movie in HD then it wouldn't be as popular. It is the same with smart phones. I remember having an early gen smart phone that had maybe few hours of standby time.

I don't understand the vitriol some people have for it. I seen some social media videos where people are unplugging other people's cars when they are charging it or they are just doing shit to other people's electric vehicles on the road. Who gives a fuck. It is fucking stupid. It is like getting mad at people for using smart phones.
