I for one do not like fighters (who get a nice payday)just do enough to win a fight instead of trying to go all out and finish a fight or at least do your very best.anyone else feel the same?
fighting to win is the point of the fucking sport.
things get problematic when guys are not fighting to win -- they're fighting to survive. they've stopped taking risks, and are just trying to see the final bell. that was effectively silva's gameplan against cormier off his back -- survive. he wasn't trying to escape. he wasn't trying to win. he only wanted to survive.
It depends on the situation. If a champion carries a legendary fighter for the last couple of rounds to let him go out with some dignity, I'm ok with that.
If a champ wins the first three rounds and then turns into a track star, I'm not.
It all depends on the situation. I don't like embarrassing an opponent.
Not just a champ, all fighters. The only time I let it slide when they're one loss away from getting cut. But other than that no. Don't call yourself a fighter if your intent is going the distance.

Im sure they all try their very best. You dont become a champion by doing shit half hearted.
I would never begrudge a champion doing what they have to do to win. At the end of the day those 25 mins are just entertainment to you and by monday you go back to what your doing and forget about it.
These guys have families to feed and they should be their priority not nerds on internet forums.
