Are refs not allowed to wipe blood off during the fight ?

Don't know what the rule should be but it changes the fight quite a bit.
 
They don't carry anything to whipe it off with... also it could affect a cut if done the wrong way, so only doctors can do that.

Why should they? Getting cut sucks, but it's a real part of fighting.
 
If a ref is bleeding, he is 100% permitted to wipe that blood off.
 
And now, having realized that not every ref is a "he," and thinking of Kim Winslow bleeding, and where that bleeding might occur, I now find myself desperately thinking of soap in an attempt to wash that image from my brain.

God help me.
 
No, the only time they wipe blood off is if they need to see a cut better.

Refs are there to enforce the rules or stop the fight if it needs to be done. It's not appropriate for them to help a fighter who's in trouble get back into the game.
 
What like...during the fight? Running up to dudes swinging haymakers at each other, with a cloth in hand dabbing at their face? Seems impractical, but would be hilarious to watch
