That liberals or conservatives or whoever would politicize or display political hypocrisy about something isn't surprising. What is truly disappointing is the medical experts who openly politicized their reactions. These experts were not objective and made public statements not based on their expertise but on their political leanings. They like one protest, so it improves health; they dislike a different protest, and those protesters are killing grandma.

Because people are herd animals. Whether physically or mentally, most people want to be a part of the group and will support whatever foolishness is necessary in order to do so. I think any mass gatherings where the virus is in high circulation present a risky situation in terms of further spread. The political point seemed to be that the end goal justified the risk. One study concluded that any spread amongst the protests in May-June didnt correlate to wider community spread in the 3 weeks following the protests. Whether this observation would continue to hold in the face of further mass gatherings would require further research, and may depend on the nature of the protests (ie. peaceful/violent; wide/limited engagement) and percentage of community involvement.

Yeah that made me laugh its political bias, its like it became a religion or something I know for from first hand experience most of them were not wearing masks cause I had to drive through DTLA to deliver some office supplies to a few businesses when they were first protesting I had to go another route and most of them had their masks around their neck yelling so what good is a mask when you are yelling at eachother all it takes is one person to infect a sea of people and they were packed in like sardines

No, looking at raw numbers without context is not the answer. It never was the answer and it never will be the answer. It's been 4+ months and they're still doing this and it's a piss poor way to report on the virus.

The scientists in the article basically show political indoctrination and tribalism and bias is rampant, only a few people are trully unbiased like myself I might not be a scientist but those scientists show bias and admit to it because of their political leanings even though they know the virus will spread with the protestors they didnt scold them like the conservatives.
