People are saying that Connor holds the advantage in terms of speed against Nate. I think that this is at least debatable. Connor hasn't fought notoriously quick fighters before. Unless you count the fight against Aldo.
Considering that Nate just fought Michael Johnson, a really explosive and athletic fighter with very good boxing and just beat him up badly. Plus Connor isn't only fighting a considerably bigger fighter than him in Nate, it's also the first time in the UFC where he doesn't has a decent reach and height advantage. I think these factors are going to play a bigger role in this fight.

Not to mention he can't POSSIBLY be as quick, precise, yada-yada with an added 25 lbs.

Well I think Conor is used to being the slower fighter in most of his UFC fights anyway due to fighting smaller fighters, but I do think Conor will be faster anyway. The problem with this fight is the 10 days notice that Conor has and it gives Conor a lot of advantages over Nate that Nate can't afford to lose against a fighter of Conor's ability.

Nate did not beat up Michael Johnson badly. The fight was very competitive and Johnson looked sharp. Nate and Michael have similar striking styles, but Conor uses angles movement and speed unlike any striker Nate has fought or trained with. His reach won't be a big factor since the angles are going to be changing every second. Nate is going to have to get Conor down if he wants to win.

Conor isn't especially fast with his strikes but as MMA fighters go, he is one of the very best at reading the opponent. Those great reflexes make him look like he's always a step ahead, and therefore faster than he really is.

Aldo, Mendes, Brimmage and Brandao aren't quick? The fuck? Is this shit real?

people are overestimating everything about Conor, but they won't be after Saturday

People really put Conor in the same boat as Michael Johnson? If you think about it do you think that Michael could have 13s Aldo?

I like Nate but Conor will finish him.

He is a bit quicker i think, hope Diaz lands with his unusual punch movements.
And i dont hope Greggor hit him hard with liver and kidney shots

Did you watch the same fight I did? I don't think Johnson landed more than a handful of decent shots after the first round. My wife, who is a casual MMA fan at best, was even entertained and said it was like watching a matador dodge a bull.

I was impressed with the speed of the knuckle duster..

Nate got hit a few times by Johnson it's not like he is a defensive wizard like Mayweather...he will get hit in this fight too. His chin and cardio are more important than being faster than Conor.

Conor moves at light speed

why don't you wait till tomorrow ? tomorrow you will see what's up

Whut since when isn't Aldo considered fast...?

I don't know if it matters really. I think Johnson and Guillard are both much quicker than Conor and they still lost. They've both made me think "holy shit" at times in the same way that Belfort does with his hand speed.

Conor is pretty quick but he's not that much faster than the guys he's fighting. Conor does have great power, a good chin, and he pressures people. He's actually sort of like Nick Diaz(if he had better power) in that way. I think Conor probably takes this, but he's not pulling off strikes where the opponent doesn't even know how to deal with it, in contrast to something like Wonderboy vs Hendricks.

Conor will probably trade shots with Nate, with Conor's shots doing more damage, and then Nate will get tentative and slow down and allow Conor to land volume. The other possibility(slim) is that Nate manages to pop Conor from a distance and you see the opposite happen. There's really no way to tell how Nate will look in any given fight, but the fact that he's showed up out of shape before and he's taking this fight on short notice doesn't look good.

Is Conor known for his quickness or something? I don't see his style as being one that relies on speed.

Conor does not seem particularly fast at FW, but he probably will against Diaz.
