I will also say that the places for food that everyone says is great and there are lines, aren’t that great. We asked locals and got the real deal places for Cajun and oysters. Emerald does have some nice spots, but I like local places like Dookys Chase, Brennan’s, Bourbon House was touristy but good as well.
One of the best reasons to drink all day is the oppressive heat and humidity. It’s brutal. Everyone is sweaty all the time night and day in the summer. So if you are drinking you don’t care.
