that's how it works these days money fights trump everything, who gives a fuck about skill. When Ben Askren was showcasing his brilliant high level wrestling nobody gave a shit. Now with the hype coming from a win over Jake Paul he will be able to walk right into the UFC with at least an equal money fight.

Jorge Masvidal rematch is the most obvious fight.

GSP could potentially comeback for a fight with stock that high and with no title implications on the line dana would allow it

Nick Diaz Dana needs to pay Nick Diaz some serious Conor Mcgregor money to come back and coach the ultimate fighter against Askren. All Nick has to do is make to the press conference and the money is in the bank.

Lots of things going on backstage whenever someone with hype generated outside the UFC comes in.
probably try to low-ball him too, given his first UFC stint.

That's actually why I like this fight. Both guys are done and shouldn't be fighting in the UFC. In order for Diaz to come out of retirement the only way would be for Dana to cough up the cash. Which as a Diaz fan that is the best result you can hope for. It would be a shame if Diaz wasted his prime waiting for a payday that never happened. Askren is in the same boat in that he knows he can't really compete in the UFC anymore but against each other it is both fighters best option at big money fight.

Not really. Jake Paul will just go away for a while. Ben goes no where after this aside from being slightly trending for the next week or two later.

If he can somehow get the KO, the story will still be"Jake Paul gets KTFO bu NNA fighter." rather than "Ben Askren dominates Jake"

First my join date is two years before yours and It's almost a weekly occurrence at this point, that news breaks that some one is coming out of retirement

...seem to be on much better terms now. In a recent interview Askren said Dana hooked him up with coaching from Freddie Roach. Of course, that gesture was probably 100% selfish on Dana’s part in that Ben is unofficially (and unwillingly) representing mma and the UFC... but that of course is the angle the fight is being sold as. Also, something to be said about Dana letting Askren do the match even though Ben is still under contract with the UFC. Ben said even he was surprised the UFC gave him the ok.
