This is something that sticks out to me. Maia, while being among the lower rung of high level MMA fighters in terms of striking, has been training striking for a long time now. Does any knowledgeable fan actually think Jake has better technical striking than a pro like Maia who has been training striking for well over a decade now?? Ben may have looked sloppy as hell, but he was landing on Maia.

Askren won’t be concerned with looking like a proper striker, but rather with being effective in the ring. He will land on Paul, & tie up with him if at any point he needs to.

Distance management, ring awareness, grit & durability are all going to be factors in this match. Factors that a lot of people seem to not be considering.

Agree with all the above but I'd add in the fact that this Youtuber has no idea how to pace himself, he's going to get a massive adrenaline dump and bust his load in the first two rounds, then he will quit when the going gets tough, and it will get tough.

Ben loves being a fucking prick and he's good at it.

After getting embarrassed in the UFC he tried to get attention roasting fighters online but no one really cared because his creditability was shot.

This boxing shit is perfect for him because it gives him the spotlight again to continue trolling.

Ben had a better career tham most fighters can even dream of. His UFC fights don't take that away. He came out of retirement to fight in the UFC even though he was in bad shape physically.
