It was probably due to all the drug use throughout his career, A heart can only take so much before it gives up.

Always wondered what he died from.

I couldn't get into their music and I was big into nu-metal in the early 2000s. Mainly, because their drummer was even worse than Lars Ulrich and made Static X sound like generic garbage compared to Limp Bizkit, Deftones, Switched, Papa Roach, Staind, etc. Bands that had decent to good drummers and guitars.
