Is that happening in UFC?

I'm not talking about the way UFC try to give an easy match up to build up the reputation of certain fighter, I'm talking their attempt to fixed the result of fight by paying one of the fighter , how true is this myth??

If I am a a fighter making next to nothing in the UFC and can get in a fight with a good spread, I work with my opponent to make it happen.

I could see the lower level guys doing it for sure. They get paid nothing and if done right, can make a boatload if they work together to fix their fight.

Ask yourself:

Would you trust a fighter with a secret that could bring down your multibillion dollar organization?

Because that would be what Dana is doing if he were to offer a guy money to throw a fight.

However, it would not be outlandish to think that a fighter could be offered money by some group not related to the UFC, to take a dive.

"Dana slowly slides a stack of money across the table as he winks at Nate Diaz"

Barbareno must be like Bruce Willis in Pulp Fiction after that Sage fight.

It would never be DW asking the fighter to their a fight. It would be a nicely dressed unknown guy that has a lot of cash. And usually when a fight is fixed only one fighter (the one losing) knows the fix is on.

The mob ruled boxing for almost 80 years (from 1920s to 1990s) not by the fight promoters fixing fights but guys with no public face doing it.

I'd be a fool to think I've never watched a fixed mma fight before.

Anything involving any form of an assett leads to some form of corruption. Welcome to Home Sapiens. Lay of the land my friend.

If cricket and tennis have had their fixing scandals it would be naive to think it couldn't happen in MMA.

Most of the match fixing traces back to the far east, is there a lot of betting on UFC fights in that part of the world? Most of these betting coups only get uncovered by the authorities noting big wins on unusual outcomes, say a guy being knocked out in the first minute or something.
