It was the embodiment of MMA. Striker vs. grappler, and both cream of the crop in their respective styles. Watching Sean search for shots and Merab search for TD opportunities was intriguing. Extremely high level stuff. Drama at the end too. If all you want is two guys swinging at each other, go watch BKFC.

Go back to masturbating in your singlet.

Boring? Sure was, because the champ cruised without any sense of urgency.

Sean fought weak AF, like he just didn't even care about keeping his belt.

Merab had a fine game plan, he did exactly what he needed to do be champion.

Not sure what else needs to be said, it is what it was.

Wasn’t terrible, it was just 1 way traffic a lot of the time with Sean having moments here and there.

I always enjoy getting answers to OUR questions we have BEFORE the fight,

Can Merab impose on Sean without getting sniped?
How does Sean react to such a pressure fight like Merab?
Will Sean gas?

Personally I have more tolerance for low-damage grappling in a title fight - with the belt on the line, I want the smartest and most skillful fighting possible

And just the fact that O'Malley and Grasso were losing their belts and couldn't figure out a counter over 5 rounds made it more exciting, cause you know they were doing everything they could to avoid the grappling

I don't think you quite get the criticism of this fight and why people said it was boring. It has nothing to do do with wrestling, or striker vs grappler. It was the fact that neither guy was able to put together any meaningful offense behind their gameplan. Sean did nothing with his striking game till the end and Merab didnt do much with his grappling. Sean wasn't able to land anything that was significant or did any damage and Merab wasn't able to create anything with his grappling, no advancing, damage, domiannt positions, submissions, Sean got out and up every time and defended a good amount of TDs.

It was a fight where neither guy also engaged much with the other guys style. Merab just completely stayed our of range with Omalleys stirking and Sean just played defense on the ground and looked to get up and take no risk. It's a good strategy for both guys to win, and I apprecaite the way Merab fought, but it doesn't make for the most exciting fight when both guys don't engage much like that.

It was basically a fight where both guys defended well against each other but didn't put together much offense. And that is why fans, including myself, found the fight sort boring. I mean, I was excitied during the fight, but as it went on I got less excited.

Maybe. But do all jackasses say it?
Will not saying it stop me from being a jackass.

I agree with you, and same goes for Valentina v Grasso. This isn't a pub fight this is elite MMA
