Television Anyone watching Task ? (HBO)

Of course you don’t:

Why would I have known that? I don't subscribe to conservative rage sites.

If you're going to write him off because of one tweet, that's your loss. A lot of people said a lot of stupid things in the Rittenhouse aftermath, there was and continues to be a lot of terrible liberal reporting.

Also, you really should see Dark Waters and Spotlight if you haven't, they're fantastic. Coincidentally Spotlight is about child abuse, and if Ruffalo had known the truth I doubt he would have made that tweet.

That’s not a “conservative rage site.” It’s a post from one of “JoJo’s” many victims.

If all it takes is one second of Google searching to not come off as a kiddie fiddler sympathizer that’s probably the route I’d take.

I’ve seen Spotlight and it’s coming to 4K later this month. Never seen Dark Waters but have seen him in other stuff like Foxcatcher, Shutter Island, Collateral, etc. I don’t like all the Marvel drivel so I’ve missed a large portion of his filmography.

I think he was also in zodiac but haven't seen all of that. I totally forgot he was in collateral

When someone makes a dumb post, I don't often see it because I don't pay attention to people who amplify stupidity. If someone wants to make a case that he's pro diddler, that post will be out there forever and it can be referenced when necessary. I'm assuming you have other incidents that helped you form your opinion of him, and it wasn't just this one post.

In any case, I don't care. I wish actors would stfu and stay out of politics.

Dark Waters and Spotlight are on a short list of films I can watch infinite times, along with Moneyball, The Big Short, and Margin Call. Dark Waters was really depressing because big pharma is an indestructible monster and the shit they get away with is terrifying. Spotlight was depressing because so many people covered up the abuse of so many children.

So now that the show is over i think overall there were a few episodes that were like 10/10 tv.

But then a few that were not. I think the entire last episode was bad and could have been all crammed into like 15 extra minutes to the previous episode which would have been a perfect finale

Overall- definately worth watching. Will probably be quickly forgotten but its a great mini series. Better than Mare of Easttown imo

I watched the first few episodes. It’s ok. I need to pickup where I left off but I’m not super motivated to do so. Decent, but definitely not great.

Yeah, that's the problem with TV shows. Consistency is tough. I think the first episode of "Westworld" is one of the best episodes of any TV show ever. Shame about how it ended up, though.

Late to this party but if that accusation were true wouldn't there be public court records of him being convicted, serving time, and being a registered sex offender?

The victims being minors doesn't prevent the public records of the convicted from existing.

Yes. Even the hardcore Kyle Rittenhouse haters couldn’t deny Little JoJo was a kiddie fiddler. Per Google:

Details of his conviction:
  • In 2002, Rosenbaum was convicted in Arizona of sexual conduct with a minor.
  • He originally faced 11 counts of child molestation, and court documents showed he was accused of sexually abusing five boys between the ages of 9 and 11.
  • He ultimately pleaded guilty to two amended counts and was sentenced to a decade in prison.
  • At the time of the Kenosha shooting, he was on Wisconsin's sex offender registry.

I thought the entire first season of westworld was awesome. But yea then it fell off a fuckin cliff.

I was all in for the first four or so episodes. Then some cracks started to show, and it never recovered. For me, anyways. The first episode especially, is incredible. It's practically it's own movie. It was absolutely perfect.

I guess it could almost be a warning sign of the writers blowing their load. It's a bit rare that a great series has a great pilot. At best, it's usually a decent, but forgettable jumping off point, where the writers are still figuring some shit out, as are the actors. When you nail it, there's only one direction to go.

I’m on episode 6 and fuck they need to fire their law enforcement advisor.

The amount of just idiotic shit that they do is ridiculous. Making entry solo, without letting anyone know, team clearing the house on their own with ass tactics, how they all move and hold their guns… Jesus.

The state trooper chick is the fucking worst.

I will say the dude playing Robbie, who I recognized from Iron Fist, absolutely brings it. Very impressed with him.

Guys who aren't terminally online or plugged into conservative rage sites generally won't know that, or care.

It's also completely irrelevant to the incident.

The fact he was an abuser isn't why I don't feel bad for Rosenbaum. I don't feel bad for him because he wasn't a victim, he was an attacker.

Ruffalo obviously didn't know Rosenbaum's history, he probably only knew what liberal media was saying, which was that he was a victim. That's bad enough, but I think it's silly to suggest he supports child abusers.

You mean Ozark/banshee? Dunno what an iron fist is

Because it was.

The TV shows with the best finales bear a much stronger correlation to the quality of the series overall. Because it's extremely difficulty to create a compelling conclusion without a mostly great show.

Pilots, though? There are tons of incredible TV pilots where the show eventually fell off the map. Sometimes quickly. So there are fewer great first seasons (than merely pilots) among poor or mediocre shows, but there are still plenty. We had a thread about this a few years ago. I built a substantial post based on IMDb ratings of the individual pilots.

What’s the best television pilot of all time?

Key:
Orange= Nominated by Sherdoggers prior to this post in this thread (or after, if I didn't have it listed before a later post mentioning it)
