Anyone use cellular network only for home internet?

I'm sick of getting ripped of by my cable modem company and I only have one option there.

Does anyone just use a cell data network/hotsport for home?

Good enough for watching videos and browsing. Not good enough for gaming or large data transfers.

I used to, but it's not great for streaming and it chews the battery really quickly.

Cell company is going to throttle your rates real quick if you do that.

I'm assuming cellphones can do that but aren't necessarily intended to do that for prolonged periods. I'm guessing the network chip might get too hot after a while.
