Just wanted to know if anyone uses any stretching machines to gain flexibility?

Save your money and buy some clothesline. Knot it up every foot or so and stretch away.

I have. There seems to be no other natural methods which stretches the muscle that the machine did.

It is basically like a rocking horse, but you hold the handle bars then the horse leans backwards, stretching the lower back. awesome feeling

Do you have a picture of this machine, and how much did it cost?

I have tried stretching machines and I like the precor and the splits machine with the wheel- however- the method of stretching I learned in Yoga is what has taken me the farthest AND taking Greens Plus everyday has made me even more gumby.

Is a yoga class very strenuous? I'm doing BBJ 3 times a week, and I might start doing muy thai two times a week. So, in other words -- I need to give my body some rest. Will yoga be okay to pick up on top of that?

^ It can be especially if you are not flexible and are wanting to become flexible. But after a while you will see how relaxing it is. I usually incorporate yoga now in my workouts because after a hard session of rolling it just feels good to stretch in different positions and is rather relaxing. There is another form of Yoga which is called Bikram Yoga, now this one I heard is pretty hard only because you are in a high temp room. So you will be sweating your ass off while doing the poses while in a room that feels upwards of 90 degrees and up.

Yoga is awesome and can totally open you open. You'll see great improvement in just a short amount of time...I'd advise to try out some different sets of stretches, maybe take a yoga class around your town. Once a week on sundays could greatly benefit you.

chalk me up as another yoga fan. had quite a layoff after an injury filled year last year and lost alot of flexibility, i started up the p90x program with some friends, and the yoga class was a real eye opener, couldn't believe stretching through those poses worked you that hard, always just though yoga = ghey, but it's a great way to increase flexibility

Which Greens Plus do you take and why do you think it is helping with flexibilty? Just curious b/c I did a quick google search on it and I'm not sure why it would help flexibility.

I have used several machines to help stretch and they are ok, but as most people here have said I find Yoga and Pilates to help the most for grappling.

there's two of those in the 24hr fitness, they do seem to do a good job stretching you out, just feel like a retard sitting on it in the middle of roid pirates and soccer moms

Nope. I did it at someone's condonminuin, so it was not mine. The effect of it is to ,say if you are squatting, bring both thights of yours behind you as far as possible.

This is the Precor- It's great for doing Triangle stretches, Omoplata stretches, and butterfly stretches uses your own bodyweight and gravity from an inverted position. I reccomend never using the wrist bands.
