Anyone take Omeprazole?

I get this sharp pain above my stomach, right in the middle, below my chest area from stomach acid. These attacks happen at night when I sleep. The pain is unbearable sometimes. Drinking Coke almost guarantees a night's worth of pain. Certain other foods trigger it also. Most of the pain goes away almost instantly if I throw up.

I was prescribed Omeprazole 40mg by my doctor.

It works very well for acid reflux, but it doesn't work quickly. Take at least 30 min before dinner or whatever sets it off. When I quit smoking I stopped needing it.

Dont know anything about your specific condition but diet can mitigate your pain as you already seem to know. The more you avoid the foods that cause gerds/increase ulcer pain the better. Learn to like foods that dont make you miserable for 12 hours after bro

You'll regret saying this later in life though. Chronic acid reflux has been linked to developing into esophageal cancer which is like the hardest type to treat.
Gotta change up the diet for sure and get more probiotics in you

Yup, I get very bad heartburn/stomach acid, so I take 20mg, but I normally take two a day if it gets really bad.

Milk helps too, but doesn't last as long.

Did your doctor test your gall bladder? What you are describing is classic bad gall bladder symptoms. Too much bile in your stomach will cause the pain you are talking about and throwing up the bile alleviates the problem for a while. I had my gall bladder removed and all that stopped.

Stop drinking Coke and eating certain foods.

I take 20mg daily because no dietary or weight changes did any good. Haven't had problems since.

I took Omeprazole but it did absolutely nothing for me. Glutamine helps the most.

I was prescribed it for heartburn. Didn’t do anything for me. The only thing that worked was plain old OTC Pepcid AC.
