Although I was pumped for the Jones vs. DC rematch, I thought it might be a borefest of Jon teep kicking DC's knees, wrestle fucking him, letting him back up, eye pokes, and the eventual UD win for Jones. Very similar to their first fight. Jones's fights are becoming the LHW versions of GSP's fights at the end of his career. Safe and boring.
Either way, DC is a beast and if it wasn't for Jones would be the undisputed LHW champ and I believe if he got past fighting his team mate Cain, DC could be the champ of both the LHW and HW divisions.
I think DC has some of the best wrestling in the UFC, solid striking with punches, knees, and kicks, not just mainly punches like Stipe, solid cardio, and a solid chin. I think Cain has an average chin with great recovery. I think DC's chin is better than Cain's and I believe Cain has said that DC wrecks him in the wrestling department. The only problem with DC ruling the HW and LHW divisions is Cain being in the HW division and DC's age. Maybe Cain will retire if he loses to Browne tomorow making this possible.
DC vs. Anderson is a more exiting matchup that will end up in a TKO/KO finish for DC.
Unlike Hendo who didn't mind standing and banging, DC will be looking for the takedown to GnP.
I've always said that Anderson was a 2 dimensional fighter, great striking with an ok ground game and not great wrestling. I've also always thought that Silva's ground game was over-rated. He submitted a dazed Hendo, a gassed Sonnen, and Travis Lutter. I also think Anderson never had a granite chin, I just think he did well in protecting it. I'd say he has an average to slightly above average chin.
DC will take down Anderson with ease and finish him. I'm predicting a round 1 TKO/KO.
Anyone else more excited for DC vs. Anderson than DC vs. Jones II?
Kudos for Anderson for taking the fight. I know he's at the end of his career and doesn't need another loss on his record.
And for those of you who ask why....because Anderson is at the end of his career and is wise to land a huge paycheck and it's not a titlefight because DC is wise not to take a titlefight on short notice against an opponent he didn't train for who's also a legendary striker and is always dangerous.
