I'm from the USA and recently spent 10 months living in Jalisco, Mexico. I was down there to volunteer for an aerospace project that went nowhere but fell in love with the culture down there so I made the decision to immigrate to Mexico permanently after returning to the USA april this year.

Mexico is such a big and beautiful country that it's hard to choose where to live, but I think that basing where I want to move to on what MMA gym I might train at might help.

It's going to take a few years before I immigrate because I want to finish becoming fluent in Spanish first and get my proverbial sh*t together so I can immigrate responsibly. So I got plenty of time to figure this out. There seemed to be as many MMA gyms down there as there are traditional boxing gyms. At least that's the impression I got while exploring Zapopan and Guadalajara when I was down there.

If it helps anyone answer this question who is from Mexico, if possible I was thinking of taking advantage of the mountains of Mexico and possibly move somewhere with a high elevation for the benefits of training in a thinner atmosphere. For example, if I stayed in the USA I would move to Denver, Colorado and find an MMA gym there because of the elevation.

Thanks for any info anyone has on this. I'm googling this out for myself but I think it would be wise to make this post incase someone has any recommendations. If it helps answer the question, I plan to be completely fluent in Spanish by the time I immigrate so there is no language barrier to get in my way of anything, and so I can assimilate more effectively.

Entram gym seems to turn out the best fighters consistently but I don't know how easy it is to get in there

I do know that their diet is all about chili

It really depends to which state you're moving to, but if it's Tijuana, you have to think Entram Gym as suggested previously. They've grown exponentially in recent years. Now it's a Latin American super team. They used to mostly end up with Spanish speaking Latin American fighters, but it's expanded beyond that now. There's foreigners from non Spanish speaking countries like Viktor Kuiks from the Netherlands there now as well. Raúl Alvizu who manages the gym now is turning into a big MMA manager. He's had fighters signed to the Contender Series like Chicho Medina from Bolivia and Cyborg Torres from Chile and Tommy Gun Cañarte signed with ONE (who was going to go to the Contender Series next year, but opted to sign with ONE instead).
