Anyone know how Khabib is so strong?

If you look at his body, he looks very average compared to some other monsters like Abdel Trujilio and Gleison Tibau but he literally manhandles everyone. Even Rockhold said he's never grappled with a 155lb guy as strong as Khabib. He doesn't even look like he takes supplements let alone any peds. How the fuck is he so damn strong?

Skill and watch Icarus for the rest.

I automatically assume every Russian fighter is on shit since that.

Doing it all his life, genetics and fighting in a weight class below his natural weight

oh you think khabib is a big lightweight?

khabib vs gleison, who holds the record for biggest known weight cut in ufc, same height as khabib

khabib vs healy, healy is 6 foot tall and much more heavily muscled than khabib

Most likely because khabib is not on steroids.

Push ups , pull ups, dips, plank, climbing, will make you super strong but it will be super hard to get that ripped look.

Also most of the gym exercises are unnatural.
I.e bicep curls.
How is the motion of a bicep curl going to translate well in a fight.
Or a bench press. How often in a fight would you use the motion of a bench press?

You could go on and on.

Grappling all of your life will do that to you.

It doesn’t matter bench press is an exercise that builds overall strength.

These fucking goofs that lift weights and take steroids aren’t strong. Growing up using your core to throw people around gives you inhuman strength. He’s also hard as fuck

People look at biceps and think that equal strength. Strength comes from many areas of the body. His torso is shaped like a neanderthals. That's where most of strength comes from.

He didn't do Brazilian jiu jitsu and gained all of that wasted muscle that comes with it ;)

O r a bench press. How often in a fight would you use the motion of a bench press?

You could go on and on.

You're wrong about the bench press, it's fundamental for strengh gain and improvement, it has its place in fighter training.

Just like Hughes a county breakfast at the crack of dawn everyday.

Grip and core strength developed over a life time of grappling. I bet maia feels like he's 400lbs on top of you even though he's built like an accountant

Hit it right on the head. Grip and core strength. Hitting weights makes u strong but it's nothing without those 2 if looking for functional strength

when you see a freakishly strong person with low muscle development (and low body fat) it is the tensile strength of their ligaments and tendons that's responsible. This is where genetics and bone structure matter more than time spent on hypertrophy exercises.

Not having woman's waist like Conor helps. Besides, it's mostly conditioned strength in one area, wrestling.

Actual thing is, you shouldn't judge people's athleticism based how they look stationary. Many of athletes look incredible in motion, not standing in one place for a camera.

This is very true. You can tell someone who doesn't know fighting when they try to judge fighters from pictures. The performance is about who manages themselves better to produce the superior motion.

To expand: .watch the Belfort vs Franklin fight.

Belfort looked physically worse in that fight than most precious and a lot where writing him off, but there is a little step back he does near the start of the fight when Franklin whiffs a punch and I knew by the way he did it that he had his number straight away, his movement was so controlled and he already had his distance and timing after that first shot.

Possibly does a bit of training with the russian olympic team

My fighting experience is 99% boxing but i imagine its pinpoint leverage on top of functional core strength. Wo do a lot of rigging and moving heavy objects etc. In the line of work im in and most of it is pinpoint accuracy and leverage to use as little physical exertion as necessary when others without the knowledge kill themselves getting nowhere.. I imagine this is similar to Khabib vs his opponents
