My Steam library is a graveyard of these games. Ones i'll play in my twilight years when my reaction time is equivalent to sleep deprived Trainwrecks on coke.

I use to play a game called Solomon's keys. Very well made game where levels can be completed multiple ways.

I can see the similarities and why someone who liked this would like the ones i posted.

I've only played Out of this World and I really enjoyed it. There's not many games like it.

I can't really think of many examples of modern games but I recommend trying out Limbo, Little Nightmares, and Reanimal. The demo for Reanimal is already out and it is fantastic. Can't wait for February 13. I think these games capture that feeling pretty well.

All these games have similar dynamics but Flashback def has a similar atmosphere to OotW, but in a completley different setting.

Fenyx Rising is a really good recent puzzle platformer, it was marketed as an action adventure game, and theres plenty of that in here, but its really a modern day open world version of an old school NES classic like Zelda or Kid Icarus with puzzle platforming galore

Fun game thats definitely worth checking out if you never played it

I loved Flashback as a kid and have talked about it on the board before to absolute crickets, lol. Cool sprint to ledge-grab mechanic.

Never heard of Blackthrone… Thanks for trailer.

All staples of youth.

Flashback was mind blowing when it came out.....the movement animations were unprecedented at the time. Great game.

Blackthorne was just fun for one hand shotty action and the blood! Great time to be a gamer!

Also, Blackthorne needs to be played on PC, not SNES. Like Mortal Kombat, SNES version removed the best fucking part of the game!

Little Nightmares is the most recent platform game I played. It's pretty fun.

They're hit and miss for me. The old school ones are mostly "misses", because the actual gameplay can be tough as shit, where they will set you back quite a bit if you mess up in the "gameplay" sections, with their shitty mechanics and controls.

Modern ones like "Limbo" and "Inside" are great.

Abe's oddysee is like the apex predator of these types of games.

Having to communicate with your boys and help them escape, as well as possessing enemies, is next level.
