Anyone hyped for Anthony Smith vs Johnny Walker?

It’s pretty inconsequential, Smith is a ‘good but not great’ perennial gatekeeper, and Walker is too inconsistent to put a title run together and already got slept badly by the current champ. Smith is hoping he can parlay a win into a title shot since he helped Jamahal prepare for Glover but that wouldn’t have much heat behind it compared to guys like Jiri and Alex Pereira coming for the belt.

If Smith loses you know he is going to say Walker is overrated and a can.
He didnt say that already? Thats how he was w Ankalaev beforehand.

"I dont see any way he can beat me"

Im like..DUDE! hahahah

He has, that's why I wrote it :D
He said it before he fought him and after he fought him too. Same with Jones actually.
Dude is unreal lol.

I dont understand how he thinks this is gonna help him in any way lol

Walker is 50/50 fighter who just has been lucky.
He choosed to train with Irish Edmund for pussy related reasons which is pretty telling.

Smith is just a mediocre fighter that makes divisions look bad by being in the top 10.
The dude got a ton of Dana White priviledge by not taking the DQ win

Smith is a warrior

What exactly are you expecting him to do against Jones?

He got fucked up bad against Glover and went in there badly injured but fought through it.

I dunno how people who just watch fighting from the sidelines can talk like this against guys putting their blood, sweat and tears into the sport to entertain people.

It's not the blood sweat and tears people have the issue with.

It's his voice

Yeah it's a fun fight I think Smith will win. The Paul Craig win wasn't really impressive to me when Craig decided to not let go of his leg while getting punched 20 times. His chin hasn't been tested either since Hill's knuckles

Co-main event for the upcoming UFC fight night

Rank 5 LHW vs rank 7 LHW. 20 knockout wins vs 16 knockout wins

Not really, but I will watch it.

I would have preferred Walker - Cutelaba 2

Both aren't really going anywhere in their careers but should be a fantastic fight. I really enjoy watching both guys fight and think Anthony Smith is a pretty good analyst (would do a better job in the booth than the current ex fighters.)

Yeah I agree. Even though Jones smashed Anthony Smith, I feel he deserves respect for even lasting 5 whole rounds and not taking the DQ win. I don't see neither fighter being a champion or serious contender, but they still put out fun fights with great highlight reels
