Because it's unique. Before TNA went full retard, they utilized it very well, and it helped them form their own identity and stick out from the pack. Just another thing Hogan and Bischoff fucked up.

It is unique, but it strikes me more as a gimmick than anything else. Though like I said, I think it just doesn't look or feel right to me, not only the ring itself but also the action inside the ring.

If they really want to stand out, instead of a six-sided ring, they should a) provide an edgier product than the WWE, and b) feature better writing than the WWE.

They've had a far edgier product than WWE for quite some time. At least they did. I haven't checked it out for a while. Golden rule stands though. Without good writing and booking, all the blood, swearing, and sex appeal doesn't mean shit. As impossible as it seems, TNA was running even more retarded story lines than the WWE at it's lowest points. WWE at it's worst is still better than TNA, which is just sad.

WWE is just not interesting at all to me. There's something that IS interesting about TNA, even though I agree that the writing sometimes is pretty shitty and needs work. Maybe for me it has to do with TNA being the underdog going up against the huge monolith, but I find the organization inherently more interesting than its competitors.

WWE is the Evil Empire. And the much smaller shows like ROH lack the requisite production values to be watchable. TNA for me falls in that sweet spot that's right in the middle.
