I just bought a 2016 Lexus ES350, and am wanting to make it more 'me' rather than it look like just another black luxury car.

So, I found a style of rims I like, and was planning on buying and having them installed in the near future.

But, the style of rims I want are only available in 18", and my current tires are 17".

I've heard of people getting gigantic 20" and 22" wheels for the style, and it had major consequences on the smoothness of the ride and gas mileage. Wondering if a simple increase one inch would have a large effect.

Anyway, any Sherdogger has any experience

It won’t. You’ll have to change your tires too, obviously.

Pics of car, and pics of wheels so i can give an opinion.

And nah, 18's won't mess with the integrity of the ride.

Know that if you have any kind of warranty. Modifications like that can void them.

Edit: i was referring to oversized rims not made for the model.

So there wouldn't be any effect on gas milage & smoothness of the ride, or there won't be a major effect?

I've never really liked putting rims on an already nice luxury car, tbh

A lot of times it ends up looking tacky or gaudy.

Got any pics?

Edit: my sister's ex put bigger rims and tires on his Lincoln (pretty nice one, forgot the model) and it rode like shit afterwards. Not a smooth ride at all.

The one thing that never looks bad is factory fresh. Unless you’re getting some spinners of course.

This is what it'd look like with the new rims.

You don't have to change your tires, a good mechanic can get tires +/- 1" of rim diameter to fit.
Shop around to try and find a good tire mechanic in your area, if he says it can't be done he doesn't know what he's talking about.
Keep asking around.

not feeling those wheels for that lexus. I would try to get the chrome ones from lexus. Expensive, but they would look great on your car.

Ever heard of dipping? You can do them whatever color you want. With a glossy oem looking finish.

The bronze gold would look great on your current wheels. Since your car is black

if you don't like it, just peel it off.

So there wouldn't be any effect on gas milage & smoothness of the ride, or there won't be a major effect?
That depends more on the tire rather than the wheel. It might throw your speedometer and odometer off by the smallest margin.
