Does burpees for an hour an a half non stop, ridiculous

Not really burpees I guess but not sure what to call em

Yeah him and Goggins are getting some on youtube these days if anyone wants to learn how to workout like a man

He is a martial arts instructor trainer, he trains Marines how to teach their martial arts program. Their program can seem pretty silly, but at the level hes at you only find serious dudes. This guy is legit.

Having been in a brown belt in MCMAP, I can confidently say it's the most worthless martial arts program you could participate in. You'll learn more from your average strip mall BJJ/kickboxing gym.

They used to teach you how to eye poke for fucks sake.

That's an accolade I would leave off the resume.

I was being nice dude. I was a corpsman I know its retarded. All the instructor trainers, different than instructor right, I ever met were training outside of mcmap bjj or kickboxing or something though and non of them were a complete joke.

Yes.

Iron wolf is very simple if you check his profile. He says that he trains for being military ready.
So, his fitness (and recovery) are off the charts.

A few compilations too with burpees king and you start to realise that this is his normal.
I believe he is 36 years old too, so this is an accumulation of dedicated training.

Lockdown in UK has forced my hand. Spent most of my earlier years training with calisthenics and some basic weight training for MMA and Muay Thai. Ended up getting injured, then turned to remedial weight training and then recently, only powerlifting. When my gym closed and I have no room for real gym equipment, I recognised just how unfit I was (not my layman standards, but my my own history).

I rarely get inspired by online training but when you see a no bullshit filter and no faking it - full length workout videos. You know you got a real one.

Ordered some simple equipment now for home. Paralettes. Pull up bar. Weighted vest. Fixing my bike.
I expect my future to be nothing but fitness and calisthenic strength. Might encourage me to get back boxing again when this lockdown finished.

Honestly eye poking does work though, a lot of the basic techniques in mcmap do work, the real flaw in mcmap is how its structured. There's no sparring or any live training so you dont get to try the techniques in a realistic scenario. Obviously something like an eye poke is too dangerous to perform on a training partner but you could probably train it on a bag or a dummy or something. Mcmap training isnt that in depth though, you basically just memorize a bunch of steps and have to demonstrate them in the air or on nonresitant training partner. Then you just move on, so its basically just like a check in the box thing and you never actually learn how to make the stuff work.

It's also an amazing way to break your fucking fingers. What else should they teach? Wet willies? Nut twists? Finger up the butt?

The entire martial arts program in the Marine Corps is worthless.

This is surprising to me. I know that unarmed combat is not a priority for most military units, and for very good reasons. Their job is to kill the enemy, not fight him. We've spent hundreds of years developing firearms because they are the most efficient method for one soldier to kill another. That said, I would have thought the Marines would have based MCMAP around something like BJJ, which allows live, full contact practice to build controlled aggression and mental toughness.

If you can Arm Bar a fully resisting opponent, jabbing him in the eyes or kicking him in the nuts shouldn't be too difficult;)

Have you ever experienced the US Army equivalent to MCMAP, and if so how did it compare?

No idea how the Army martial arts program is. I assume it's similar.

Like I said earlier, I made it to brown belt in MCMAP, which is close as you get to black belt, and it was basically worthless. The class is too short and there's not enough repetitions to learn anything valuable. It's basically a test cram with a little physical fitness hazing.

Now what actually wound up happening is we had a couple of guys in my Company who were legit badasses in various martial arts. This one dude (who was later awarded a Bronze Star for being shot in the head, waking up and leading an assault on several enemy machine gun positions during an ambush) was a fairly successful MMA fighter outside of the military in his free time. He would run basic fighting classes for us in our down time. Things you would learn in your first couple of years at a civilian course. We had another guy who was some sort of national boxing champion who would teach us striking.

The problem with MCMAP is it doesn't know if it wants to teach you to be lethal or not. If you're just trying to kill someone hand to hand then you're going to do whatever necessary to accomplish that. I'd bite someone in the dick if I had to survive. It's a bastardization of BJJ, kick boxing, judo, and bayonet techniques with no cohesiveness.

Shot in the head, sleeps it off and leads an attack on machine-gun posts? Was the guy's name, Logan by any chance?
