So last December I took 2 weeks off work. My plan was to game like a loon, eat bad food, still jog but not as much and enjoy a lot of beer.

I got a weird rash on the back of neck and ended up touching it too much. All of a sudden the rash spread! Turned out i'd developed shingles and then gotten a staph infection. It spread all over the left side of my head/face.

I became so depressed, I just gorged on bad food and beer. I didn't have a good nights sleep for like 2 weeks as the itching/nerve pain was awful. It got to a point, with the lack of sleep, that I actually was feeling delirious and was stumbling around my flat. I drank/ate to feel better.

I didn't jog for bout a month and had to take a week of sick leave after my fortnight holiday.
I got to a point where i was nearly 15 stone! Can't run 2 miles anymore and my face had a weird dandruf/flakey thing going on.

I've lost weight and my skin is better. However, I never expected this but the shingles left scar tissue on the back of my head causing balding....so i've bald patches and thin hair on the back of my damn head....!

Any sherbros had this before?

Jesus, you dirty Mayberry bastards get staph infection as much as the average person gets the cold. What shithole are you guys rolling around in?

Lol dude, I'd only ever known of staph through reading on sherdog. When the GP told me, I was "wtf?"

That doesn't sound like shingles to me. I had it and it was painful and it didn't spread. It usually is on your torso. The shirt hurt it but it wasn't as bad as the commercials I have seen. Also very strange that I saw this today because I just got my prevention shot at the Dr's office!! Have to get a second one as well.

I got shingles in May 2015, two weeks before my daughter was born. It was fucking excruciating. Just the weight of my t-shirt hurt like hell.

Basically once you get staph, it spreads whereever you touch.

That's brutal. Did u have to be careful once your kid was born?

Yeah I had it break out on my back and chest frigging Christmas Eve this year past. Needless to say I had a happy holiday season (with the scars to prove it)

For reference I'm in my late 30s and (I thought) in excellent health. Apparently I was more stressed out than I realized.

That's so crap man. I can imagine it was brutal trying to sleep on your back with the nerve pain.
Pretty much anyone i've mentioned it to were in total shock i'd gotten it at 29. Apparently you feel the effects for 6 months at the most...it's been damn 5 months now

Yeah, everyone I told was very surprised I got it at my age. I was like "join the club"

Yeah. They gave me that antiviral for a week. The rash was on my back so they said as long as I didn’t expose the baby directly to the rash, everything would be fine.

Lol @ your av.

“You look familiar. Were you in STOMP?”

I got it, but I just for the most part chilled on my bed for a few days because it was pretty painful. Although, I had to go to Holiday party when I had it and I didn't want anyone anything was wrong. Some sort of weird mental condition I have... sucked it up through a 4 hour party and no one knew.

I wonder if daily 30 min of red 660nm light therapy would do anything.

I got it after a vacation to LA and Vegas it was just on my left side but the pain was horrible missed 2 more weeks of work

i got it in the side of my torso once. Was quite a small area but hurt like a bitch. went away after a few weeks and never returned

My shingles were all fucked up. So I got new shingles. Insurance paid for it.
