So I've decided to take a break from traveling for high paying labor jobs and get a place for the winter in my hometown and take it easy for a minute.

My place is walking distance from downtown Boise and 2 blocks from BSU. I'd like to find work in the area that is decent paying.

Anyway do any of you have experience working as a bouncer? How did you get that job? How did it pay? Did you enjoy it?

Given my SSJ Alpha status I think Im a pretty good candidate to be a bouncer and would like to make some extra money on weekends.

Care to elaborate?

I'm a relatively large guy with a history in wrestling jits and general MMA. I think it would be a cool job to make some extra cash.

These are the types of threads that typically turn into a shitstorms because to the amount of hate bouncers get. That's what I meant.

To be on topic, I was actually thinking about applying to be a bouncer a while ago. Thought it over and decided I didn't feel like dealing with drunk assholes all night. It's a good job if you have a high tolerance for jackasses.

I was a bouncer in college. It was cool at first because I was 19 but it got old quick. Ruined crowded bars for me.

The pay wasn't great either $12-$13 an hour but private parties could be nice cash $20-$30 an hour but that was holidays like NYE.

If you want cash try to use bouncing to get into bar backing.

Every occupation has assholes you have to deal with haha. But I know what you mean.

Try Tom Grainey's or the Reef. Plenty of d-bags to beat up on for cash.

My cousin was a bouncer in NYC during the 90s when it was not all yuppies and hipster, and instead, gangbangers, druggies, and just tough guys.

He quit because he said he sick and tired of people telling him, they gonna kill him.

He apparently had to use hand to hand to defend himself quite a bit. One story he told me, when he was bouncing at an explosive and athletic crowd catering club. An up and coming rap artists was throwing a party, and his producer and people behind him invite either the bloods or crips or both to attend the party, hoping they will start beef so the rapper will look like a legit bad arse.

Naturally these ruffians start up, and my cousin has to protect the interest of the club owners, and must step inbetween, and try and break it all up.

My cousin is a cool guy and I look up to him.

I wish I could get paid to bounce balls.

The biggest fights we had was with the NYFD lol. Those guys don't like being cut off and they don't like their buddies getting kicked out.

Not as good as Bar Gernika. Dat spicy lamb grinder. So hungry now that I thought about it.

this sounds exactly like Sunday nights at the Tunnel.

RIP Tunnel. p4p the best club ever in New York City.

Don't mention the MMA shit right off the bat. Just show you are a calm and personable person but with a commanding presence. Any smart GM will hire someone who can diffuse potential incidents rather skullcrackers.

Bounced in varies areas in California and in Texas.

Applied.

California is $10-15/hour generally. Austin was 7.25 + Tip out and no income tax. I worked in a high volume bar in Austin so weekends I would walk away $200+ pretty easily.

When it's slow, boring as fuck. When it's busy, it's a fun job. People generally want to talk to you and if you work in a bar with high volume girls...you can pull pretty easily. If you want too expand your social life or just make some side money, it's not bad at all.

One of my co workers used to be a bouncer. He said he quit after someone shot one of the other bouncers. Good luck with that.
