I'm guessing that the difference between that and becoming a straight male porn actor is probably quite significant though, I always had the impression that was something strongly dependant on connections to the industry with men either involved in the production or connected to those who are.

If your in good shape not worried about nudity then I'd say perhaps a more realistic choice and one without as much potential negative reaction if it becomes well known would be to work as a model. Obviously hard to break into at the top end but I'd imagine that demand for someone willing to do nude modelling for painters and photographers at a local level isn't insignificant. Might not be big money per job but still easier than most and likely more honest.
