Should Bisping have walked off into the sunset after the Hendo “win”...

I’m sitting awake at 630 EST watching UFC 217 main event and can’t for the life of me figure out why Bisping didn’t just retire after the Hendo fight. He’s looked awkward, unathletic and slow in his last few fights (save the Rockhold debacle). He’s been dropped numerous times since the Silva fight and has never been know for having a sturdy enough chin to carry him into his twilight like Hendo or Hunto.

I get the GSP fight was a once in a lifetime payday, but dudes been finished by Welterweights 2 fights in a row, concussed, cockeyed and seemingly done.

Now he’s looking for a retirement fight, I dunno I’ve never a Bisping fan but he does have that feel good quality of hard work and perseverance, honestly it’s been tough watching him endure the last two beatings. When he fights I go full Liddell just waiting for that fight ending shot.

Am I getting soft in my age in not wanting to see him in the cage that one last time...?

Full Liddell

The triggering would have been absolutely massive. I wish he would have.

No, not at the height of his earning power.

I do think he should have packed it in after losing to a GSP who looked bad.

Legacy wise, probably would have been better for the memory of his career. But I definitely didn't disagree with his logic of "I'm never going to get to make this kind of money again" rationale of taking further fights before retiring.

yep.

Really embarrassing for a MW champ to lose to GSP and gives Greasemonkey St-Piere aka HGH blanket an undeserved accolade.

Yes, I think that would have been the better way to go out. But he would have missed out on the huge payday he got by fighting GSP.

He’s a fighter. So let him bang bro. His legacy is sealed. He has one more fight then retirement. Losing the belt must have sucked. But he got paid a lot of money.

One things certain, Mike will be sorely missed once he’s gone. The British torch will be in good hands with young Till though

Well, Bispings a very good journeyman and has always looked done several times throughout his career only to bounce back with a win. Needless to say that was when he was younger but no I dont think he shouldve retired then. I think nows the time to hang em up. Hes done what hes had to do already and has had a hell of a career.

He definitely shouldn’t have taken the Kelvin fight so soon after GSP.

With the title relinquished I think the months of Yoel accusations helped with Bispings decision to get back in there so soon.

^ This really is the best thing to come out of the Bisping win.

Whining, pansy ass bitches like this fruitcake.

I see why he took the fight against GSP, but the Gastelum fight was bad for his legacy

He’s definitely a fruitcake and anyone with that outlook is also a fruitcake.

Nah. It is always difficult to say when it is time to quit.., There are a lot of potentially great paydays, and still fights that are winnable, so hard to say when is the right time... This is their job, so it is smart to get the most out of it as long as you have a big name. Soon it is all gone.

Anderson started to slow down around the Leites fight. And it was even worse around the Maia fight, where he started to look slower and less agile (but still had a great chin). If he had quit at the "right" time, we would have missed a lot of great fight, and he would have lost a lot of "Anderson money".

Fedor was humiliated, and lost his first Sambo fight in 8 years in 2008, and at the same time he (a world class grappler) started to look like a drunk brawler in his mma fights. He still kept winning fights and made millions of dollars the next years.

If guys should quit when they lose a step, Bisping should probably have quit 5 years ago, when he started looking weaker and slower. I am sure he has a great plan, and he sure made more money after the Hendo fight than he did in years, so I think it was a good call. Now he doesn't have to work at Mc Donalds after he retires, like most fighters will have to.

Edit: Chuck looks more like he is on drugs than brain damaged.
