I have been using a neti pot everyday for about the last seven years. Over that time I have only been sick once despite having two kids in public school and me working in healthcare. I am a huge believer in the power of this simple device.

I use it every night and it clears the sinuses which also helps me breath better resulting in better sleep.

The first time or two is awkward but it’s easy to get the hang of it. I really recommend this.

Any other believers?

Brain eating amoebas loom..

I've heard a lot of good things about them but never used.

My wife read an article online where people have passed away after using one. Apparently they did not use filtered water? Who knows if it's true.

I use the sinus rinse bottle because it's easier and seems to work better. I really like it and it works great.

Some people have gotten a brain eating bacteria from them and died. As I recall they lived in Louisiana and were probably on well water.

Fortunately I live in California where I don’t believe that bacteria poses much threat. I use tap water mixed with a little salt.

Is it hard to clean out the inside of the bottle? I have wondered how difficult it is to clean.

Damn, brain eating bacteria… I used one for a couple of weeks last summer when I was having allergies. It seemed to provide relief. Good thing I used filtered water!

I do because it helps with my snoring which will prolly eventually lead to my divorce if I didn't use one, I fucking hate it though.

No the top comes off and you can rinse and clean it really easily. I like that it's clear so you can see when the sodium solution is totally dissolved too.

Kinda useless with me, meant to drain out of the other nostril but never does

I've used the sinucleanse bottle. It definitely keeps me from getting sore throats. I recommend it.

You're either doing it wrong, or you need surgery.

Had surgery and it went wrong

Need another but I'm just going to leave it now

That sucks, man. Sorry to hear that. Those surgeries are a pain in the ass. I had one myself for a deviated septum.

I use the squeeze bottle one with the solution they give you with distilled water, works great.

What do you put in the neti pot? Some herbs or oils? ^ Oh tha'ts right, a little salt.

Showed up at work high a couple years ago and the boss noticed my eyes were red, nose was stuffy. So I told him it must be allergies messing with my sinuses. He gave me a Neti Pot to shove up my nose. It fucked up my high.

Definately a believer in the neti pot. When fall allergy season rolls around I use it on bad days. I never use antihistamines so the neti pot is my go too.
