Anyone else think Marshall took a dive?

If eventually he has a record of taking dives I don't think it has to do with the orgs but more with him giving up after getting peppered a while against a good striker.

same type of shot Daley knocked down Diaz with in their fight...

I suppose Diaz just saw something on the canvas that he wanted to get a close-up view of? Or was he considering taking a dive?

The punch clearly landed.

He was a +170 underdog so if he took a dive, he's doing it wrong.

Watching it live I had to rewind it several times & could never see the punch land. & with the way Marshall flopped onto the canvas, I thought he was trying to oversell it. So, my initial reaction was "Did this fool just take a dive or did he just want out of the fight once Manhoef started unloading those heavy kicks & punches?"

So, then I went back to the live viewing hoping to see another camera angle of the exchange. Luckily I did....& there it was....right behind the ear.

No dive. But I definitely understand why one would initially think that. Especially if they haven't seen the punch from a clear angle.

Yeah, and Alberto Del Rio took a dive against Cro Cop.

This.

Marshall was fighting like a desperate Leonard Garcia after the low blow. He was scared and just praying for a lucky bomb to land for him. He saw an out after getting dropped and he took it. He turned the back of his head into the punch, he probably didn't know it was coming and those are the ones that mess you up.

He was hurt, he probably could've continued, but he didn't want to so he played it up like he was more hurt than he was

I'm not going to say he took a dive.. I AM going to say this was a moment that could of defined his career, and well, it probably kind of did.. I don't really care about what he does next now, I don't really want to see it.

To me it appears to land more on the back of the head but what I thought was weird was after he landed he covered up and then was limp on the canvas.

It's one thing to think it to yourself before you know better. It's another thing to make a thread on Sherdog about it and tell people to "buy glasses" when they correct you. :)

Agreed.

Yeah...that was odd. He hit face first & went limp, covered up & then went limp again. Then moments later he seemed totally fine...like he hadn't even been hit yet, let alone knocked into the air & unconscious. That added to my initial suspicions about it. But knowing how it feels to get hit in that area, as well as being familiar with the type of power Manhoef wields, I gotta give them the benefit of the doubt.

buy glasses that right hook never touched him, you can even slow down and zoom gif.

Your gif sucks.

I don't think he was out, but he got hit and didn't want any more of Manhoef's power. The guy flopped, imo
