Just saying. If he loses to Bones I can see him taking the heavyweight title with surprising ease.
 
I think limiting himself to 205 actually hurts his cardio. He's a very thick dude despite his height.

I could see him out striking Werdum. He is certainly a lot faster and stronger and younger in fighter years.
 
I want DC vs Bones at HW. LHW result is really not that telling.

He's a good HW but he's basically a lesser version of Cain, and Werdum trashed him pretty convincingly.

The problem with these strong wrestlers fighting Werdum is he doesn't give a shit about their takedowns and can throw caution to the wind with his striking, whereas they have to be very concerned about ending up on the ground with him. Werdum is the worst possible matchup for DC at HW.
 
DC in my opinion can beat everyone not named Jon Jones.
 
One thing for sure, Cormier wouldn't bully Werdum in the clinch. And if he wouldn't go to the ground with Mir, I doubt he'd be willing to do so with Werdum.
 
It would be competitive. Would love to see it, both great grapplers with decent boxing.
 
No, I think Werdum is a bad match up for DC. I think Werdum has better stand up and DC is more worried about being taken down by Werdum than the other way which opens up more striking opportunities for Werdum and limits DC. Werdum also has a strong clinch game and is much taller than DC allowing him great leverage for hard knees.

I think he does better than Cain a lot though cause his striking is much better, but I think he would lose a decision on the feet.

Miocic to me is a toughter matchup for Werdum that Cormier, he's also a solid boxer who can keep the fight standing and is half a foot taller. I don't see as it a given that Cormier's boxing would overcome Werdum's MT.

I don't personally think DC would be able to beat Werdum once out of 3 fights, though I agree with the general belief that DC would be outstanding back at HW, especially in or around the current landscape of both LHW and HW divisions. Firas Zahabi touched on this on a more recent youtube video of his but I really feel Werdum is someone that would nearly completely stifle DC.
 
Cormier would overwhelm him. Werdum to me... always looks beatable. But the HW division is so bad.
 
I think Werdum is a very tough fight for DC, tall, pretty strong, some decent takedowns of his own and his skills on the ground we don't even need to mention...
 
I see DC being able to get in Werdum's face and trouble him in close with his dirty boxing. Also, and people will lose their shit on me for this, I think Werdum's vaunted bjj is a bit overrated.

I think DC can hit takedowns and beat Werdum up on the ground while avoiding the submissions easier than people think.
