Anyone else switch from Faber to Cruz over the years?

I've grown to appreciate a more cerebral approach to fighting as I've become a more knowledgable fan. Before-hand I would route for the seemingly stronger, more aggressive guys - hoping for a knockout. Now I find myself more impressed with the matador. The less athletically gifted fighter who still finds a way to victory using wit and guile. Mike Pyle is a good example of this type of fighter.

I thought everyone was Cruz until they Fabered and now I can't even look my own children in the eyes anymore

Im not even sure the chronology anymore. I know these days id root for cruz tho

Didn't care for Cruz before, and was a fan of Faber.

Nowadays, I still like Faber but have come to appreciate Dom's comeback from injury. Would love for Faber to win UFC gold before he retires, but I'd be just as happy if Dom retained the belt.

Not necessarily, I just have started to disrespect Faber ever since he befriended TJ just because TJ wanted to train elsewhere for his carreer's sake.

I like Faber, I watched him way back in the WEC days and was like "lol look at thisfucking DBAG" and then saw him fight and had to reassess my opinion on him. Been a fan since cuz he proved me wrong. So definitely wanted him to wreck Cruz and they had some really close fights over the years. Had trouble liking Cruz for a while because I liked BJ Penn too. But over the years he grew on me. Just simply seeing him come back from career ending injuries multiple times to regain the crown is too impressive to dislike the guy. I'd be torn if I had to pick between him and Faber, but I'd prolly go Faber cuz a vet like that deserves to finally get the gold.

I've always and still like both.

Cruz is stupid athletic. His endurance and conditioning are insane and he's very agile.

I do still like Faber too, don't get me wrong.

I was cheering for Faber the last time they fought. I'll be cheering for Cruz this time. Not only do I appreciate Cruz more for his comeback, his destruction of Mizugaki, his tough fight with TJ, and his expert analysis and bantering, but I've also come to dislike Faber. I really can't see how that eyepoke of Rivera could be anything but intentional. He was clearly frustrated and probably losing the fight. Not only did it look like he was trying to do it, he attacked when it was completely obvious that Rivera went down for that reason, and then acted like nothing happened in the post-fight interview.

Still, much of the blame for that fight result falls on Yamasaki. Yamasaki has been doing this long enough to recognize why Rivera went down.

I can never like Cruz. He's pretty much the T-1000 of MMA. He's better than everyone when his legs work. But sooner or later he's going to get thrown into the molten steel.

Not trying to start an argument or anything, but are you considering Cruz the less athletic guy? Faber is probably stronger, but by every other measurement Cruz is the far better athlete.

Jesus really?

Is this a real person/fan or is this an advertising ploy?

To drunk to investigate more then this.

Dom is quicker and Urijah is more aggressive. Each time they match up it poses for a good one.

Rooted for Cruz at 132 and will at 199. He's the man and will go down as top 5 all time.

The snake in the grass was always Faber. After losing to Barao, he even proposed TJ getting the title shot thinking he was probably going to get destroyed
