Anyone else really happy for Pettis?

At first I was surprised by his post fight comments, but I really think embracing his highlight reel fighting style and going for fun fights / finishes is perfect for him at this point in his career. Whether or not he's ever champion, if he doesn't enjoy the grind of training wrestling every day (and still getting taken down), he might as well go back to his bread and butter with submissions off the back. It clearly still works.

It was really cool to see a once elite fighter seem to turn back the clock, and especially cool to see such slick submissions skills in such a high level fight. I don't know the last time I saw a triangle off the back on a PPV. War post-USADA Chiesa claims you greased Pettis. You're just so good, people can't accept it as reality.

Yup, he has been one of my favorite fighters since WEC. Nobody is more exciting to watch. He needs to keep fighting with this no fucks given style, that's what got him to two belts in the first place.

Yes. I'm also happy for his new sponsorship with Vaseline..

Hell yeah, I was rooting for him against Poirier and felt like he had a chance to win that fight. Was very happy to see him sub Chiesas Whining ass.

I’d like to see Pettis face Gaejthe if he beats Vick.

I was ecstatic. I'm hard on Pettis but when he shows up focused he's a must see assassin

More satisfied that the weight missing crybaby lost than happy for Showtime but good for him, was an impressive performance.

I'm just happy Chiesa lost after missing weight. He seems like the type with great potential for salty popcorn.

I was actually suprised he won, thought he was done after the first takedown. Hard to say who he fights next maybe Vick or Gaethje, think Lee would grind him out.

He said he hates wrestling. I'm guessing just training striking and bjj is what got him at the top.

Chiesa is losing me as a fan. After the weight miss and greasing comments, I swapped sides and cheered Pettis on.

Huge fan, happy to see him look like the Showtime of old again if only for one night

Unfortunately his real flaw hasn't been fixed. His issue wasn't wrestling, or USADA as some say

It's footwork. And Chiesa isn't a test in that area given he has absolutely none of it himself

I am glad Chiesa lost. He was so salty when he lost to Lee. I don't see him doing better at 170.

I'm, chielsa has been acting like a total douche, how you gonna tell a former champ "see you in Bellator" after you miss weight for a fight you have been trainning 7 months for.

I was ecstatic....I can't stand Chiesa.

Chiesa looked a full weight class bigger which made it even better when Pettis started walking him down. Awesome win.

Why is someone not allowed to make a comment about a fighter feeling like they are greased to their corner between rounds?

That one was understandable (as long as he wasn't salty towards Lee or his team), because he didn't tap. The ref fucked up.
