I was there today and enjoyed it. Old timey-country service and lots of cool antiques to look at on the wall. Was inexpensive and big portion sizes also. Also has a peg jumping game on each table. After you get stuffed there are rocking chairs on the front walkway.

They also have a cool gift shop with all kinds of old retro candy and toys.

Hell yes.

Go in, get the fried shrimp platter with chicken N' dumplings, biscuits and sweet tea. Gorge myself, go outside to have the best post-meal smoke ever in the rockin' chair. Someone tell Yves the fight's over; I'm done.

I haven't been to a CB in years. Last time I went was on a road trip back to see my mom in TN, we stopped for breakfast. The food is decent and they give ungodly portions from what I remember. The wife enjoyed looking at all the kitschy stuff in the gift shop.

Waffle House > Cracker Barrel, sadly neither one is in my state. All we have is Denny's and that place is fucking disgusting.

What exactly is a Walmart type? Someone who doesn't like to overpay for stuff? If you have a Walmart in your area and don't shop there, you're probably a hipster asshole who hates getting more for his/her money.

They hire a bunch of racists to work there. I stay away from there and Denny's. Also, I don't want to get fat. I went there once and saw that mainly wal mart types like to eat there as well.

I ate at the one in Desoto yesterday morning for breakfast and I felt like I was in the middle of a NAACP meeting... Love their pancakes, bacon and hashbrown casserole

Cracker Barrels are a mixed bag. Some of the ones in the suburban south aren't bad in terms of service if you're not a cracker. OTOH, some of the ones off the highway in the middle of nowhere (Arkansas, Alabama, Tennessee) make it quickly obvious that your money is not as good as everyone else's.
