Anyone else just plain disappointed at how the champs performed?

I really liked the event, it was a fun and unexpected night but these two upsets had something peculiar about them, it showed two huge holes in the otherwise "invincible" image these two champions projected.

When Holly fought Ronda she seemed so strong, to the point where even when Ronda tried to take her down she very calmly defended and got back to where she needed to be.

In this fight she looked downright scared about the takedown, she looked nervous as fuck, as if she knew the fight would be instantly over the moment she got taken down, it was ridiculous, the lack of defense she showed in the ground coupled with the horrible decision to flip her over left my mouth wide open in disbelief, I instantly thought of how badly Ronda would have beaten her if Ronda managed to take her down and play her submission game. I really love Holly but this was a horrible performance by her, she looked nervous on the feet and horribly inexperienced on the ground. Are you telling me the Jackson camp never brought a specialist to practice some RNC's on Holly?

And Conor, he became a panic wrestler when he got hurt, which is sad just in itself, considering all the fun he made about panic wrestlers, but I don't mind it since it's always a smart move and keeps you from being hurt.

However, every person who has ever seen both Diaz brothers fight know that if you are hurt by them, the worst possible place to go is the ground, you will be instantly submitted, this is not high strategy fighting IQ bullshit, it's common sense, if you are hurt against a Diaz and you become a panic wrestler, you get subbed, as simple as that. Conor had speed and skill on Diaz, he could have boxed the whole round and recovered, at the very least try to clinch or wall fuck Diaz, at least 2, maybe 3 other options that every person who has been around fighting for a few years would know. But somehow, in his panic he thought the best way to go was to take a Diaz down while being hurt?

I don't mind, at the end of the day we have Miesha finally winning her belt and Nate showing us just how much of a badass he can be, so I am very happy and had no favorites (haven't had a favorite since Fedor lost to werdom, being a nuthugger doesn't pay, plus I also, you know, grew the fuck up)

But to see the two stars of the card lose in such an amateurish way is disheartening, it's similar to how Ronda lost to Holly, we saw so many holes in her game but it was also due to Ronda just fighting like a stupid person winging arms running at Holly gassing herself. In my mind what happened to Holly is even worst because Holly was on point yet she was terrified of the ground.

That's it.

We can all say we miss GSP and his winning ways,
I know i do

dissapointed with holly, she trains with jackson, she should be prepared for meisha's style, tate was mostly just standing there she was so hesitant to attack

Havent watched the fight but very disappointed Holly lost, moreso than Tate winning. It just means Rousey is coming back out the woodwork for another predictable win & I wont be watching that.

Less so with the main event. Even though he's champ (at FW), McGregor is still something of an unknown quantity. Whatever people say, this was not him "going up 2 weight classes". The exact same thing happens if they fight at 155

It's not a knock on Holly that she was nervous, she just knew how good and dangerous HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING really is.

High school wrestling is the best wrestling.

I believe Holly made no secret about Tate being the tougher matchup and Conor isn't the WW champ.

The Champs or Champ ? Their was only one Champion fighting last night, Conor is not a champion at 170 and believe you me he knows that this morning because he fucked his following up and the list goes on and on with how this 3 weight class champion hair brain idea has violated him in the ass.

Well, you know what I mean, I meant "the champs" as in "the stars" of the show, we expected way, WAY more fighting IQ from Conor, I mean that shit was ridiculous. Think GSP and how he responsed when he was badly hurt against Condit, 100% still in the fight and recovered like a pro, then look at how Conor's world crumbled the moment he was wabbled, he started trading unnecessarily, throwing even more uppercuts that weren't going to get the job done (leaving himself exposed for more punishment) and then just decides to give away the fight by going to the ground while hurt, it was just stupid decision after stupid decision, and don't get me started on the wheel kick spam, wtf was that, it looked like it was his first MMA fight and he wanted to show off in front of his girlfriend or something, I think I've seen better poise and ring intelligence and generalship from Sage Northcutt.

As for Holly, what really shocked me is how nervous she was, it's almost as if it was a given that the moment she was going to be taken down was going to be the end of the fight. How is this possible, Miesha is good but she isn't fucking Rickson on the ground, even if Holly was taken down she COULD survive, yet the fight took a type of feeling where you just knew it Miesha got the takedown that was it for Holly, she basically took her down twice, almost finished the first time too.

I love Holly and I love how she beat Ronda but this performance by Holly was plain embarrassing to watch, Miesha is cool and she is a good fighter and cute and nice and bakes cupcakes and whatever the fuck, we all love Miesha, fuck, I will go as far as to say that if you don't like Miesha tate, you suck, but she isn't a great fighter, never was, never will be. a scrappy brawler with a lot of heart and decent wrestling in a very shitty field, she has had inspiring victories where she won not due to skill but heart and she has also had crushing defeats where she has been exposed. And Holly just made her look like Rumina Sato Gracie Emelianenko on the ground. Block the fucking choke and stall, if you have to stay there fucking stay there until the round is over, lose two rounds, you have 3 in the bank, you win the fight, give a nice speech saying how tough Miesha was and you fight Ronda in UFC 200....... nah lets panic grapple and pass out.
