Anyone else go from hating Garry to absolutely loving his fights?

He’s a good fighter with really high fight IQ. His lack of finishing ability or being great at specific ability might prevent him from being champ.

Elite first name. Old wife. Some of his fights are fun. Not a fan but he’s growing on me.

He's very talented but he's just not good at closing the show

I've always appreciated Garry. He's good at making fighters look bad. And tonight, he made an effort to be more offensive.

People may dislike him for one reason or another but you can't deny his talent.

Ian Garry had no power in his punches and at no point did he have Prates in the danger he was in. Most of his takedown attempts were to save his ass from being finished by a chain smoking nerd.

He's a solid technical striker with strong offensive grappling, which is rare, even today. I enjoy his fights because they are a showcase of someone putting in the work to get better in every aspect of the sport. He doesn't have tons of power and fights conservatively when called for, which precludes him from being a "fan favorite", but there are many fan favorites who never got close to a belt, either.

I never hated him neither particularly liked him. Hes ok IMHO, hes active and tries to bring the fight.

Never hated him but I think better fighters are bringing out the best in him. Congrats to him. Prates is fucking dangerous.

A little bit.

I like that he's active and willing to fight with a months notice.

I like when he strikes, but the panick wrasslin' I could do without.

That was far from a perfect performance LOL
Garry is far better than I thought pre-Shavkat fight. He took on the WW boogeyman & lost a close fight. Then Prates had tons of hype, Sherdog poll had Prates winning & betting odds suggested almost a pick-em. Instead, Garry made Prates look like an amateur through the first 3.5 rds
